Description
You know you're old when the last video game character you committed to memory ends at WARIO. XDThat said, I love old games! NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, 32X, etc. So, over the weeks of "Artblock 2015", I drew this and that to keep me busy.
So... maybe you know what a FEW of these guys are from... but do you know what they're ALL from is the real question! : D

I think I'm going to issue a DRAW JOHN O'HARA challenge.
BTW, since you seem to reside in that happy friendly island in the sea, Japan, could you contact Tommy February6 and tell her I surrender. I will be hers, (including all my oil reserves in the East Indies, and all of Hawaii) if she just will STOP SCARING ME WITH HER SONGS

Thanks, Alexi! I do too, obviously. I just wish you didn't need to have the hands of a brain surgeon and the reflexes of a city rat to beat some of those early NES games. XD Hell, I STILL never beat King Koopa's castle from the first Mario, with that crazy pattern you're supposed to go in...

I could barely finish any of those NES games, but the Sonic games were totally doable. Even with that tricky Labarynth zone.

Any of the water levels were like someone walked into the room while I way playing, held a spider in their hand and SLOWLY walked it towards me. I KNEW it was only a matter of time before the pressure was on. I was never any good at finding the air bubble pockets. XD

He should be the posterboy of the whatever-gender movement! X D "Pink - it's for everyone!"
And he was great fun to draw once I realized he was going to be an awesome pink color. Not enough pink in this gallery! But since we're manly men fellows, we'll just call it "salmon"! >___>

I always suspected you grew up with Nintendo. That explains SOME things. ^^
*quickly hides his N64*
No really they got quite some dynamics of their own.

HAH! NOW I wanna know what are some things it might ezplains! XD
and N64 WAS good, I'll admit. If it wasnt a spinning around all over game (Mario) and more linear/ on a track like a fighting game or Starfox, I could do it. But taking time off has crippled me to the point that I look at how people play today and Inunderstand what the guy who raised horses felt when he saw the first model T put down the road. My time is over.

Given that I was myself growing up with Nintendo maybe a playful attitude towards some things... (totally not hinting that there could be sublime messages in Nintendo Games aimed at corrupting our young mings back then... however some Games did certainly screw with my Mind but thats another Story...)
Interestingly enough, as soon as i got PC i got into Strategy Games back then before I returned much much later into fast paced stuff again.

You know, when I was a kid I wanted there to be video game cartoons done in this style so badly, rather than the nonsense we got with the Super Mario Bros. and Zelda. Closest thing I ever got were some of the Nintendo Power comics, and those were great!
Regardless, you make these critters look pretty rad. XD

I admit, the original Mario Brothers and Zelda cartoons (I suppose they're the ONLY ones, unless you count that crazy anime one from Japan) were a bit peculiar, but I think we took a lot FROM those series, too! : ) I mean, Mario is ONLY a plumber from BROOKLYN because that cartoon made it up. Link and Zelda only have a relationship (or Link is aiming to make it so) only from those cartoons. In the original games, they're were practical blank slates. Mario was just SOME GUY and Link was just on a quest to banish Ganon's evil, one point of which was him kidnapping a princess.

What Maelstrom said, $60 a pop and nowadays you gotta spend an extra $25-$30 on a season pass for DLC that "should of" been in the original game. Add on'top of that micro-transactions and you end up paying upwards of $110-ish on a game if you want all of it. Needless to say this isn't for all games but it's becoming a trend. :I

They can keep their fucking systems then. Eat my ass. If you have something, it should either come with your game or redeemed with a code from your original purchase. The balls on these dudes. Why anyone plays games is beyond me. Just fucking get out your cup and ball and get that ball in the fucking cup and you win, then go to bed.

They come about $60 upon release and then they rope you into online network bullshit and "micro-transactions" the way mobile gaming does, $2 here for a costume pack or $5 for some additional features.
It's garbage but man does it rake in a profit.
I think this video also sums up modern gaming:

Ew! I've heard the term 'DLC' for some times, but I didn't know you had to PAY for it additionally - I just figured it was like... you bought the game, you got the updates and all. UGH! FFFFFUCK GAMES.
I'll be over her with Gyruss, Mario 3 and Burger Time if you need me.

Yep...big bad business got itself a nice stranglehold on vidya gaems. Not every game does this but the AAA crap that keeps pouring out does, not to mention crappy pandering.
Your list lacks Earthbound and Contra III, homeboy.

Ha so we've got a Metroid, the actual alien.
We have got Sonic mooks from Green Hill Zone and elsewhere.
There's another mook, the Mega Man Sniper Joe (I stopped at X-3 btw).
Those fucking Octo-monsters from LoZ...Octoroks!
And the lovable Goomba and Koopa Kid (Koopaling) Roy.

I could recite the Koopalings by heart I played so much Mario 3 and Super Mario World.
Nintendo was my bread and butter followed by some Sega hits like Vectorman, Bubsy, and Toejam & Earl.
Then it was the days of Goldeneye and Mario Kart.
Then HALO...
Then the 360 where I indulged in Cawadoody.
Then I got Spec Ops.
Then I...I...then I...

I can officially pinpoint the END of my gaming life at N64. I remember playing Mario 64 and getting really bad motion sickness. I'm sure I could've overcome in and would probably even be fine now, but I was like "fuck this noise" and just gave up. I've never owned or played another system or game. I tried playing Call of Duty like a year or two ago and just using the controls was OFF THE FUCKING WALL. Pushing down d-pads and double tapping buttons and shit. Fuck.
I DID enjoy Starfox 64 thought. XD

N64 was also my last one before upgrading myself to PC Master Race for good. Turok and Super Mario 64 were my favorites. And yes I loved the crazy acrobatics at Mario 64.

TUROK XD
i think if I saw Turok now, I'd shit. I KNOW I olayed that once or twice to the point of super anger because nothing flowed right or was explained well, while I was struggling not to get dizzy XD Onjust wanted to be cool then and play the games with the fellas. ;___;

You can pretty much guess where I ended my tenure judging by my previous post. N64 was fun once you got the hang of it.
From there on in games just stopped being fun or too expensive, especially once involved shooting anything.

Metroid is a weird series. It BARELY has anything to do with the Metroids sometimes. XD It'd be like if I named a show "Sandwiches" and only SOMETIMES do sandwiches even appear, and never as the focus of an episode, really. XD
