She has so many cool tattoos I decided to do something new and show her off a new way. Enjoy, and let me know if you want to see more animations like this.UPDATE: Fingernail fix, hairline fix, and doubled the frames in the animation for a slower, smoother turn. And check out her eyes (thanks to firestorm31z)! She takes hours to render now, but the effect is stunning and well worth it. File size isn't as high as I thought doubling the frames, thank you Photoshop. And thank you to all who commented and shared this!
UPDATE 2, FINAL: Raytraced her shadows (yeah, that took a long time), made several improvements to shading and hair, and quadrupled the frames for the smoothest turn I can manage. Enjoy.

image quality didn't match the original image.Β it was bit fuzzy at the hair and on the tattoos.
it went away after I ran it a second time to compare the original image.

Possibly your cached images. These are approaching 20mb so they are huge.
I may put up the originals in my gallery somewhere to compare. This version should have clean ray-traced shadows which don't look like they are warbling.

I ran them in my viewer.Β I use PM-View.Β Yes, I noticed that is a big file.
after looking at it again.Β the artifacts show but only if you look closely at 100% and reduced the image size to 50%.
DA runs that image rather slow on your page.Β

Interesting. I am still experimenting with process, and also compression, so there may be artifacts with that. I shall look into this and thanks for the report.

She's awesome! I've shared my thoughts on these already so, I guess your next step could be to have the girls.. animate a little more. With just the eyes moving it's borderline creepy to have them stand still like that!

Thank you! Haha, yeah, I know, I will need to work on some more movement. Since the cycle is so short it will be tough, and I will need to work on tools for that to avoid it looking like a silly repeating dance. Let me work something out.

I know, 360 of her degrees to love. We typically only see one side, so seeing everything lit beautifully is really, really cool. I find myself staring at this one, it is hypnotic.
There are a fair amount of technical hurdles to overcome as well with the process (and some I am still working on). Worth it though, totally.

That is possible. I'd have to keyframe those in as a part of the animation. She volunteered as my proof of concept for my first try for this project, so I am working up techniques and working out any kinks. I owe her lunch lol.
The largest limitation I work with is dA's 30mb file size for uploaded images. I am at 7mb now. I have a little room to give for more frames for a smoother rotation (by about twice). I'd rather not go larger for the previews since dimensions would add up quickly to a huge file size. I'd rather not go the full 30mb for each, since it takes a while to load.
The effect is beautiful though, and I love how this looks. The way the light plays on her as she turns adds another dimension to the art, and of course, we get to see a lot more than just one side of her.
I'm sitting here mesmerized by this lol.
