Description
I have had great bosses that called me out on things that were my fault, and then they were cool enough to never hold that against me - because they know it is the team that matters. I always felt terrible though, but it is always for the better. This is dedicated to them.***

A good moment, it both ends the crush-daze but underlines why it's there.

Yeah, I had this concept of being asleep for 300 years is going to severely affect your conscious and critical thinking skills right after you wake up. It seemed strange and jarring in the previous panel why Mira jumps into crush-daze mode, but she isn't 100% there and awake, and her mind wandered. The Admiral recognized the look and called her out, but in a respectful way, and it highlights both skill and a little bit of compassion (a save the cat moment for the Admiral and it makes her very likable as a leader).
Really one of those moments between them that defines who they are and their relationship quite succinctly for a 2-panel spread.

Also, contrast this with the speech bubbles of the UN-SpA President in panel 12. The Admiral isn't throwing up a huge wall of text, and she pauses to let Mira respond. Also, the words aren't physically between them either, so you feel that she is closer and more considerate to her. Placement and lots of things matter with speech bubbles, and just how you use them can tell you a lot more than what is inside them.

Though in Mira's defense, it is easy to see why she zoned out. I love Ardalla's directness here, no BS and just say it.
It's also something that I feel happens rarely on Trek and other ensemble shows. Someone gets taken to task for a weakness or failing. Actors want their characters to be perfect, so there its that pressure to have everyone be perfect (when in life, people have flaws). The boss that realizes nobody is perfect and still manages to keep the ship sailing is the successful boss.
