More with the cute alien. Yes, three fingers on her (hands will eventually be a bit larger possibly, but that is the later morph steps). There are a lot of subtle skin and asymmetric tonal effects painted on here, just the look of her skin is awesome (and yes I could put more details like lips and makeup, but just the natural her is a huge first step. There are places on her painted different and she has this cool chameleon-like look to her, and lots of hints of the underlying physiology. I love the tender looking breasts and the radial cracks on the skin (in both highlight and darker areas). And her legs are very cool.

I can do this with any source texture, blends, and custom bump and specular layers which is cool. And I can modify existing skins directly or on layered effects. No seams.

This is one of those things you are envious of others and you want to do so bad but you always end up talking yourself out of it - you aren't good enough, you could never do this, and you don't know the tools. Using the tools is easy. Building up the nerve to learn and punish yourself enough until a workflow producing repeatable success establishes itself in your head - and you keep at it enough so it sticks - is the tough part.
