The dragon on the left is our OLD hatching dragon design. This one was very difficult to paint.The one on the right is the first test paint I just did of new version. He is going to be cast in two pieces so we can paint dragon and the egg separately.
No more paint drips on the eggshells!

I literally just lost my dragon(same style as the dragon on the left but orange and gold and a few odds and ends in color) to our move.Β
He'd been around since I'd been a child and when I inherited him from my dad, I never thought I'd open our box of breakables and find him shattered.
I just about lost my mind and try as I might, I couldn't sort him back together again. So that was a piece of history lost. UGH. Damn movers.
Needless to say, as much as I adore the detail in the newer dragon, I have an affinity for the older baby.

Aw! Some of those can be patched up good as new, but sounds like yours is toast.
Β Even though those are discontinued, you can probably find a replacement on Ebay pretty cheap.

The red colors ( Ruby and Red Fire) are discontinued because we were having trouble with the red paint. It is a shame, I loved the reds.

aww, me too, especially that little guy with the blue eyes! My hubby and I have personal dragon characters, mine is green with golden eyes and his, red with blue eyes! My little green hatchling has red eyes, but I figured it was close enough!

I know that design! My grandmother had the hatching dragon and it's family. After she died we took home all her dragon figures and have them on our mantel ever since.

I like the breaks in the eggshell of the old version better, though. Very delicate and realistic. The dragon itself is very adorable

Cute! I do think the quality on the new one is a bit better, as well as it being easier to fabricate for you. All in all an excellent addition to the family!

I love the new hatching dragon! He looks like he really belongs with the family, like I could imagine this guy growing up to look like the father dragon.
