Ah, what a lovely piece of art. I thoroughly enjoy the roughness of this and the way you seem to have captured the essence of both disgruntled raptors and disgruntled felines everywhere - unless that is a sly smirk at the corner of its beak there. The body language is… engaging in a way one rarely sees in animal sculpture, it seems very alive.

I am very glad to have re-discovered your gallery. I remember you from my Elfwood days, and from having seen some of the Windstones in a ouple of shops here in Norway, but I like seeing your comments, sketches and β€œnon-official” figurines.

how much would you sell one for?

Unfortunately, I don't make ceramic sculpture any more. All of my stuff is now reproduced in gypsum.
I did sell this piece, but I don't remember what it went for!

the claws went up cause the clay shrinked?

Isn't that interesting? Thin parts against the kiln shelves often warp UP in the final high-firing. I don't know why. It is a useful phenomenon though, keeps the more fragile claws up off the table.

Wow, your skill back then were already amazing! Great piece, I like the rawness and imperfections of sculpting, it gives some character to him

It is better for your mental health to let ceramic clay do its own thing and not try to control every detail.Thank you!

Haha! I believe that rule could apply in many other fields of art too Sometimes those random little things make the work feel even more unique Just need to learn to accept it and take benefits from it ^^
