Description
This is a real-time Blender render of a model (background, laser and shadows added by hand) that I created for the free open-source game UFO: Alien Invasion ( [link] ), which is approximately halfway complete (but playable), and is influenced heavily by the X-COM series (this deviation is a remade version of Phoenix UGV - Action Shot, using my new texture and a remade background). I am not one of the creators, I am just helping out because I really want to see it done so I can play it through! It is a little less obsessive (which is good) than X-COM II, and leaves you feeling good instead of feeling bad and needing MORE...I obsessed over X-COM II for months during high school. This model was posed for this "action shot". I think it will look good against the background of the game too--it uses some influences from the US military's new urban camoflage.
Here is the in-game description that I made for the UFOPEDIA:
Phoenix
Using Ion technology, Phalanx has advanced UGV (Unmanned Ground Vehicle) technology to create this mobile, hovering, autonomous weapon. The Phoenix UGV can achieve strategic manuevers such as floating at any point in mid-air, scouting/attacking through second-story windows, and landing on rooftops.

Nice, but, like before, it would be cool to see the whole thing as a real-time render (shadows and laser) as it would appear in the game.

Yes. Yes you did.
