Description
This is my first "up-to-par" rendering using Blender 3D. It makes use of Yafray's (raytracer that comes as a rendering option with the latest Blender) high-quality radiosity (light bouncing off of objects and back onto other objects).Related content

Ok now it is much better with high poly count. Also, higher resolution now. I'll make the stem better before I go any higher...

This is really cool, and the shading is pretty realistic. One thing you could have done to make it a bit better though is increse the poly count on the orange, which would make the shadow resting on it from the triangle above to look more rounded.
I've been meaning to try out blender a bit more, but haven't gotten much oppotunity (and now Caligari is introducing tS7, which looks amazingly sweet!)

I like blender better, and you'd be amazed at the tutorials available (i.e. smoke, fireworks, volumetrics, HDRIBL) and for easy but powerful modeling you can use Wings3D

Yeah, I'll prolly do more with blender in the future than tS, as blender is, of course, free. 👍: 0 ⏩: 0
As for tutorials, dA has a blender tutorial section [link] though it is currently lacking. They can always use more good ones from experienced blender users
