Description
-------I absolutely hate the narrative you sometimes hear on Chinese social media about commissions which classifies you and your art as somewhat inferior if you've not been taught or trained for art but still wants to enter the art commission market. And people's first reactions always being "oh go practice the basics 1k times", which refers to the same "basics" of you were to learn making art in the academia way like pencil sketches, whenever you ask about how you can make improvements. Valuing this professional/expertise-based training process as the only way out.
If everyone ought to follow this model guess why some people are called AMATEUR artists??
I had a strong hatred towards the "basics" when I was 7-ish yo and just refused to receive any sort of art training except self-teaching. Because though I like doing art I ONLY want to have fun and going through tedious boring academic training takes the fun out. Yet this emphasis on training to have good "basics" never stops trying to give me pressure because it's something I didn't and will never do but almost every other artist friend I knew did. But I didn't do anything wrong by not taking the same path as them.
Urrrrrgggg it's just horrifying to someone like me that almost everyone else that's making money off their art on the internet is either an art student or had been one/wants to be one, or is already working an art-related job. I'm happy to be where I am and I don't regret what I did so fucking leave me alone.
Also finding it kinda funny when ppl online/IRL see I draw stuff they almost always tell me you must be an art student and I'm like nah I'm a social science dude that in fact hates studying art
