Description
I saw this against the side of the road/path on the way back from the beach. It had a kind of spooky feel to it. Don't ask why, I just think all the twigs and broken branches look sad and depressed. (note: can plants/trees have feelings? If so what about when they die?)I wanted the image to be longer horizontally but it couldn't be so. Alas

There isnt enough contrast between the log and the distraction behind it. When you look at something, the focus of your eye is SO center weighted, so what looks like a good shot to you relies on having the rest of the image blurred out (usually) now, there are many cases where you dont want your photos to mimic how your eye sees the world, but in this case i think the background grass( is it?) is too destracting. perhaps blurring the grass, but leaving the log would have been better.
if i had a dollar for every time i thought an image was awesome and then looked at it full size and realized that it wasnt nearly as goodd because of the lense not acting like an eye, i would be able to afford that digital camera i want.
