Description
This is my greatest accomplishment yet. Protogee (pronounced pro-toe-zhee) is an Eva mecha based model. Not entirely Eva though because I took out certain elements. These elements did not fit in with the sword, shield and wings style I wanted to create. How it started: I made the design for the sword and had inspiration to make a model based on that. Then the shield came about and then the wings. I didn't know what to do for the body so i created an altered Eva mecha.
This is the first model that I created a skeleton before I created anything else. It totally paid off. This had to have a huge amount of strength to carry all of that and still be extremely pose-able and flexible. (Everything is pose-able. Even the mouth!)

OMG, most likely you dont know the anime Code Geass, but the awesome wings look like the wings of a 9th generation Knightmare, if you want to know how just search Guren S.E.I.T.E.N.
P.S. How did you get all of the pieces for each of the Lego creations you make?

I've seen it. I loved it. And the wings surprisingly do resemble the Knightmare's. I buy my pieces from Bricklink.com

Oh man, that was my fave anime for 2 years, since I first saw season 1. Thanks for showing me what website it was, too hard to find sets in Tassie.

None. Every piece I use, unless said otherwise, is LEGO branded. I'm also a purist who doesn't modify pieces (except for tubing which is meant to be cut).

The wings and shield jump out at me as exceptionally crafted, although getting the body strong and stable must have been no mean feat.

The body is actually the most stable I've made. It was specifically designed right from the start to hold up the wings. Working around the initial skeleton was the hardest part of this.

Maybe I didn't read the description yet. HOwever I'm wonder if you could tell how you did to add that stability in the torso, arms and wing.
Specially the wings, since the "handy" parts looks heavy for the figure itself.

I played around with different techniques to find the strongest and most flexible. They're all different in this creation. For the feet, I used inverse dish and t-bars to stabilize the ankle. For the hip, I used a lightsaber, a minifig hand inside of a block with studs all over, and dishes with holes in them. Those are the important areas for stabilizing the torso.
The wings were the biggest challenge. I used a gun/hose piece and fit it into the double bending joint that has a hole in it. Thats the strongest connection I found. My entire skeleton was built to support the wings directly and I built the body around that.
BTW, if you don't build a skeleton first, then there's a good chance that you will run into stability problems down the road.
Hope this helps.

Indeed. I couldn't reach the opportunity with such levels. However it sounds like you found a way to really enjoy an actual science.

Oh, about this head: I built it randomly trying to find a good head making technique and thought this one was too cool to scrap. I'm going to make another head soon that'll better resemble an Eva.

Haha, I wish it were that easy. From what I've heard, it's a pretty difficult process to be selected.

that is awesome, great work how long did this one take and it may just be me but i think the legs are to short, the thigh is ok but the rest of the leg looks short to me, for a eva style mech

I see what you mean but I think it's just the angle. The legs are far longer than the body. It should be about the same ratio as a human.
