you are very kind to offer that but i lack the knowledge of how to make a poseable skeleton so the obj would just be a still model to me . with the robots i've made i can organize each object to be a sub-object of the previous and when i move one .. like when i move the shoulder bar , the entire arm moves , then i can bend the elbow , etc . i know how to make one bone , like how to insert it into a single solid object (a cube), but i don't know how to connect bones together or how to make a full skeleton .. yet . though , thank you very much

hehe I have no idea how to make skeletons either I did the sub group method when i made something and it works fine for things like robots etc. My tutor in College was into Cinema 4D and he showed me how to rig with it but back then I was really new to 3D and it basically went in one ear and out the other LOL
BTW they are releasing a LITE version of Poser for 39.99 on Monday. You should check it out if you are interested.
A few people have asked me about the OBJ files for the armour so I will probably release a version that just has all of the OBJ files so if you want you can grab it then.

i think i will grab that when you post it . i guess even if i can't do something great with it now , maybe i will be able to some day . thanks for the tip ! i will check Poser Lite on Monday . maybe you can answer something for me - the main thing i would want to do with it would be to pose a character, paint it (give it clothing, etc) then export that to an OBJ or whatever so i could import it to C4D to put it in a scene and render it . do you know if the Lite version would let me do that ? i'd pay 40 for that ability

You can export stuff from Poser 8 into Cinema4d renders all his stuff in Cinema. It doesn't specifically mention OBJ export on the Poser Debut page but then it doesn't on the Poser 8 description either. I have messaged Smith Micro to ask.
The product page is here: [link] just incase you find anything extra.
The sale price of $29.99 will start on monday and lasts for 3 days then the price will go up to $49.99 hopefully I will get a reply for you before then.

thank you very much i emailed myself the link so i will have it with me
if i don't hear from you by wednesday i think i will purchase it . i would assume that if it's in one version it would be in all of them . 30 dollars isn't a bad gamble . i'll have that much fun with it even if i can't export or import . video games cost twice that
i haven't had time to start modeling a Daft Punk stage yet , but i've been thinking about it a lot . but i think i have a good design in mind now . it will look like a star with 3 points . and it will be slightly rotated . separate sections will form the overall shape of the stage and will have different elevations . it will look similar to this [link] but with only 3 blades . in the 3 spaces between the stage blades , there will be 3 large claw-like structures . those arms will hold the spotlights and speakers . to give you a general image of it , think of it as if the stage were that throwing star in the palm of your hand (.. if you only had 3 fingers) . for the materials i was thinking of mostly using a reflective "slick" black . the sides of the stage sections will have lines of blue neon lights and the 3 claw arms will be outlined in blue neon as well . what do you think ? that's just the ideas i've had . it has evolved several times over the last week . i haven't seen that movie but if there is some shape or theme from it that we could use that would be better than my ideas , i can do that instead . no worries .

WOW sounds awesome.. I can't wait to see it
I still haven't heard from SmithMicro. I guess they don't actually reply to messages on DA. Sorry.
I will try a direct message through their site but I guess it won't be replied to by Wednesday.
It would definitely be worth the money, you get free content with it as well so it should be fun

when i start Debut , my firewall informs me that it wants to use my computer as a file server . i choose No . after the program has started , my firewall informs me that it wants to connect to the internet . if i say no the Library will not load . the Library files are on my computer , not the internet - it's the 2 gigs of data i had to download . if i wanted to use a local object i have let it connect to the internet . i can't even browse for the files manually because they are OBZ format and when i choose File/Open i can't even see them . and yes i turned off the auto updater thing in options . that's not the reason it wants to connect to the internet . no . it's because at the bottom of the Library there is a panel that constantly scrolls text advertisements . do you want to buy an iPhone ? was how it greeted me the one time i let it connect . no thanks . i guess i won't have an in-program Library . also , i can only have one document open at a time . i tried the export to OBJ and it worked . though the scale was way off it is correctable . Debut forced me to install a service pack for the .NET Framework so i could install a file extractor to uncompress their product . that has given me problems with other programs . so i'm going to return to the restore point i saved before i began this . also , i attempted that DAZ 3D link you gave me . i was forced to create an account and allow them to install a cookies on my computer and then they wanted me to download the 3D file as an executable . f that . i'm out

Oh no that sounds like an awful start. The adverts in the Libary sounds like an annoying problem(it is not in Poser8). There is a box in the preferences to turn off internet access in Poser8. Don't know if it is there on Debut.
Sorry it is not making you happy are you going to just forget it and try to get a refund?

one of the first things i did was check the options and disable the auto-updater . besides that there aren't any other "online" settings
i registered with false information - name/email/etc and it was paid for by my friend's paypal account .. i don't think that attempting to fight for a refund would be worth the effort

There may be issues if you plan on selling but if it is a free game It would probably be ok

Labj In reply to RetroDevil [2011-02-09 20:22:25 +0000 UTC]
Well, its not my game, its for modding BF2, the game is lack of good models by itself, and if it is possible to get this on that game, the polygon count shoudl be reduced, that would count as an edit, do you mind if that happens?

I have a question: i downloaded it, and i checked the files, and i could only find the helmet and the boots, do you have an OBJ of the full model? Also, i watched the wireframes, they are seriously awesome and detailed.

Thank you
This version is just for Poser ATM. The rest of the armour is in the Props folder in Poser.
If you don't have Poser I will be uploading the OBJ files at a later date.
