So this is probably my 5th or 6th attempt at doing a decent fanart of Reki because I failed all the other times. >:0 Now I need to do a decent fanart of Blue (which I have also failed to do many times).Augh, black hair is such a pain in the butt to do. ~_~ Especially long black hair. The feathers weren't as hard as the probably look, but I had a little difficulty with the top layer of feathers. Thanks to ~nuclear-haru for her bit of input on that (It worked the second time ._.).
I also have a 1280x1024 version of this if you want it as a wallpaper. Feel free to note me if you'd like it.

damn.. it's not funny how little justice the preveiw image dose this one. ireally dig the overall hazy feel of this image; the colours don't feel clearly defined and this sits so nicly with the purple-ish/ grey background you've got going on. the way that colour in perticular keeps on cropping up in the blue jacket in the areas of shade (and to a lesser extent on the black t-shirt benith it) really gives the image as a whole a sense of untiy. also, certain tones pop up to a smaller degree in the shadows of her face, further perpetuating this.
this heavy, smoggy feeling is most well portryed interms of the halo. the sickly, yellow hue it's taken on gives the impression that the light it gives of is being obscured by the choking enviroment. only a tiny bit of it is picked up by the hair, something that not only reinforces the shape of thi flow, but adds to the heaviness of the scene.
there's a great sense of movment here. everything from the russtling jacket to the few rouge feathers floating off really give this image a sense of direction and they way she hold's her head up against this gives the charater a aloof air.

The detail on the wings really adds to the piece, and I love the color choice. Not only does it add to the feel of the image but you got away with a lot of depth using a very limited pallet and that is always a good accomplishment!
What is it about feathered wings that makes them constantly shed feathers...

The flow of her hair is so pretty! I really love the feather texture in her wings! The muted colours are so moody and came out really great!
