Description
Why didn't anyone tell me this was so much fun? Isometric drawing lends itself to these Escher-esque impossible objects, such as the Penrose triangle or impossible staircases and such. You know what, there's another thing Escher did that I want to try out... But first, I'm going to play around with perspective some more .
The theme of the day for inktober was angular and this was one of the rare times I did something on the basis of a prompt.

Haha, thanks! It's a slight coincidence that I went with the theme this time.

At first I thought this was supposed to be impossible geometry, but then I saw that it is possible, and I'm glad you had fun with this, so you'll get to do more
Except the symbol in the middle would be impossible as geometry and not a symbol

It would be impossible if it was translated to 3D space. You could just go down the stairs and down the stairs and down the stairs... But I guess, that's just impossible 3D geometry, not impossible 2D geomedo.
Wait. What would impossible 2D geometry be like? Maybe just an optical illusion (oh, I wish I could do that)?
The Penrose triangle (the symbol in the middle) is such a classic when it comes to impossible objects.

They're only impossible if all the angles are 90 degrees.
Oh THAT's the name of that object.
WHOA impossible 2D geometry WOULD be awesome and it WOULD be AWESOME if you could do THAT!

A triangle with 90 degrees for all angles is possible, with curved lines.
Yeah, but what would it even look like? If it was impossible in 2D, I wouldn't be able to draw it! Otherwise it wouldn't be impossible

Oh yeah! But that triangle might be best made massive.
You know, it is possible to invent new things in art. Imagine how great you would be if you invented art that could not exist in 2D? Someone would surely look at that, and get inspired to make the calculation that enables time travel.
Short of that, since the reason impossible geometry works on paper is due to how we process images in our minds, so it could theoretically be possible to make impossible 2D geometry by making something that CAN exist in 2 dimensions, but CANNOT be interpreted through the lens of human perception outside of a 3D space.

I have printed pages of isometric grid in my bag so I can draw whenever, it's my favorite perspective for 2d games. Nice work with the shapes, looks on point apart from it totally not making sense

I should do that! Sounds like a great way to fill empty time (if I ever have some).
Thank you!

Definitely easier than thinking of what to draw on the scary emptiness of an blank white paper.
I like designing rooms like that:

Thare's a pdf of a great grid if you search on the internet, lower the opacity, print and you're good to go
