I love how X is openly being sad, a bit of tears in his eyes while Zero's trying to look all tough with his legs and arms crossed, but is actually crying more than X is XD It's so great, and reflective of their personalities.

I disagree. I think Zero looks fine with his hair slick back, and... it probably looks funny because this is a fan concept and NOT the manga.
This drawing was done for a friend of mine that supposed to represent us as X copy Sapphire and the black Zero, Onyx. That's the hairstyle I like, simple and military-ish. We thought it would be funny to see A.I. as our characters and... this is what ended up happening. Come on... you really think X and Z would cry at a sappy movie like that?

Aww how cute. tho Zero's head and hair look;s a little odd O.o he woulda looked better if he had some bang's over his face rather then all of it pushed back. [he has bang's in the manga's when they show him with no helmet on]
