the sun quit
I haven't seen it in a year
and I am sick
weary of this hibernation
restless for an equinox
and when it does come
I'll stretch my limbs
emerge from winter
shed it off like
old skin
unfurl my wings
take a mouthful of clean air
and step off
fall down
and pray
that the new me learnt
how to fly
in those dark months
