Well this took forever for me to draw, and I didn't even put as much stuff in the background as I had originally planned. I'm terrible at making backgrounds anyway - too lazy to put in the extra details. So anyhooowww, I was trying out this new style. I'm not quite used to drawing like this but maybe if I practice more? Oh well, at least it looks better than my crappy lineart.I DON'T KNOW ABOUT TITLES.

It looks good tho! And the background is good, I like the glass in the windows. Trust me, background are annoying. Only people who are amazingly pro can background. I wish I was one of them. :/Β
I don't understand how you work without lineart. I mean last time I did that i nearly drove myself insane. like how. just how. HOW

hehe thanks. I spent the least amount of time on the background dude, and working without lineart is hard, but my lineart is never smooth and it annoys me. I was using the Pain Tool Sai trial version. I might put up a speed paint of this since I recorded it, but I don't know. It would be pretty long, over ten minutes at 32x speed.
Anywho, I guess the trick to this stuff is to have a lot of patience and time. You could probably do it better than me if you tried c:

ah. Have you tried using the linework layer on Sai? It auto smooths your lines a little. I've stopped using it personally because I don't like how the pen looks. It also has the vector tools.
yeah that's thing with the speedpaints. A lot of the time tho you have to go a lot faster than you think. wmm lags in the preview window when you play it so it doesn't look like the final result. Lets see...this one I did:Β www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMcDyQ... was 35x and that was probably around 4 or 5 hours (that tends to be my average) of footage down into 8 minutes. I mean granted I lost some footage here and there because my crappy capture software decided to corrupt the data (what are you using for that btw because if its cam studio recorder then that's the one that decides to turn evil after a couple times using it).Β

My average time for a drawing is 45 minutes, which is probably one of the reasons why my lineart comes out very bad. I tend to rush through things. Oh, and for recording I use Hypercam 2. It works fine for me but the recording sometimes has crappy quality, mostly when the colors are layered/blended together. Well that was a bunch of random information and it's 2 in the morning so good night. Or is it good morning?

Lineart is also just hard to get used to do digitally. When you mAke the lines bigger they tend to look better. Do a high res too, I generally use 500 dpi. Stuff will look choppy up close but better farther away. I also use smaller strokes and then Clean those lines up.
Ah I use the free version of activepresenter. It has editing software mixed in which I'm still trying to get used to. It's being annoying so far, it has these things called frames and I'm still trying to figure out how to get a soundtrack to got over multiple frames. Actually I'm just trying to figure out the entire software :/

Aww that's too bad. I would send you the link to the version I have but you already paid for the full version so... :/Oh this piece took way longer than 45 minutes. This one took about four hours but my previous drawings only took 45 minutes to make. I'm trying to spend more time on them though and pay more attention to details and junk. Thanks that's actually helpful advice about the lineart. I'll try that for my next drawing. Maybe I'll look into this activepresenter thingy you speak of too. well it was a licence. it turns the trial version into a regular Sai. Its only $60 so it wicked cheap

Yeah that is pretty cheap, way cheaper than something like photoshop, but I was trying to save some money for a tablet that'll be $60.Β

ah. I was lucky that I have an amazing uncle who got mine for christmas. It was the top of that line too (wasn't expecting it thought I was going to get the lowest one but no!)Β
Its actually not a bad idea to invest in more expensive tablets tho. Mines the top of the wacom bamboo line (the create i think its called?). It was like 120 or 180 but its really a good deal considering it also comes with photoshop elements and corel painter essentials. They're kinda like mini verisons of the actual programs. They don't have all of the features but they have most of them. (especially the photoshop one. I think the only things its missing are channels and CMYK)

Hmmm... Maybe I should look into it a little bit more then. I was thinking about getting a monoprice tablet, I'm not sure I I would use photoshop/Corel painter all that much but I don't know. Well good luck with figuring that stuff out.

though when I did something to the settings so it could record stereo it was like do you want to restart now? and I was like ok fine because i thought it was just going to restart the program BUT NO IT RESTARTED MY ENTIRE FUCKING COMPUTER AND IT DIDN'T LET ME SAVE ANYTHING SO I LOST THE PROGRESS I HAD MADE ON A DRAWING. IT WAS JUST SKETCH LAYERS BUT I HAD THE POSES ALL HOW I WANTED THEM AND NOW I CAN'T GET THEM RIGHT FUCK.
