a labor of love!

i've been inspired for nearly a year now by a wall hanging in the dojo my girls have karate class in. but i didn't feel i could reproduce it very well and so kept putting off making her, even tho the bait stared me in the eyes on a near daily basis begging for new eyes and hair and sculpting!

as everything has gone down in japan i wanted to make something to sell to donate the proceeds. and here she is. she has 11 different shades of hair, sculpted girl and bamboo and a full body repaint. after sculpting and baking i tried to give her a flat white body but i wanted to keep the paint thin and not chunky, as white has a habit of doing, so it's actually not completely white, kinda looks whitewashed IRL.

which inspired the rest of the painting. and then the hair colors and everything. i have her a bit of a blue around her eyes close to her original body color as she used to be a bow tie.
