IT'S DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i've named him black ice. haha.
enjoy him. all done by mouse in adobe illustrator 10.
btw congrats winged-design for your win in my first contest. now i must go about contacting your partner in that contest so that i may know what more i need to do in the prize art area of life.

in the title? the 4 is just to say "for" winged-design is spirits reborn's name on here. it's his prize for winning a contest of mine. he asked for a black dragonw ith angel wings, and this is what he got. after months of waiting

damn, i can't critique at all. because this is basically exactly what i was thinking when i asked for the dragon. and yea. very very aweswome. i love this.. XD
i love the wings tho. best part. and followed by the head. both are uber cool. and....this must've been like hell to do, especially all done by hand. (mouse)

i like the head best, but i think that's because it is modeled off the AD&D 3rd edition black and silver dragons. (forgot to add that reference to this description, altho it is a part of the WIP description.
yeh it wasn't easy but using illustrator was a lot easier to do than if i had used photoshop or some other rastor program. i find that even if you can get them to let you play with the "points" they're not nearly as flexable as illustrators.

I love the detail in this... its amazing. I love those feather-scales on the wings too... wow. How'd ya do that?
Argh. Those frills look so painful to do. Eeeek. I love the head too.
Critique? I dunno. There really isn't much to critique here... maybe shade the claws but thats all I can think of.

you can shorten carpal to CTS and i will know what it is
feathers- i drew a single feather and copied and pasted it. just the outline. then i took a fill and traced over the bunches and used a transparent mesh (mesh like i did on the dragon-pony's scales, except more than two colors and transparent) for the longer feathers i just did one outline and seperate transparent fills, getting lighter as i went down, but only dragging out the last color from the first.
frills...yeh, my wrists weren't that bad when i did those. the straight lines weren't bad because i just used the straight line tool.
and yeh the claws.....umm...i always forget something stupid.
