shadows jump, and scare menot quite there, but near me
like lips caressing my neck
burning a memory i can't forget
hands that used to touch
i remember well, too much
arms that held me tight
words to remember all night
i try to forget, but haunt me
i distract myself, but taunt me
hope catches my eye, but leaves me
like a knife, with intent to bleed me
i lose my heart to one, and another
i lose my soul and begin to smother
why can't i win, just one time
but lose to the shadows in my mind
my heart shreds, and my mind is erased
refuse to wake up to the pain i must face
the shadows haunt and confuse me
the hopes taunt and lose me
