Hi guys,What I bring today is another mod of the Elementary OS gtk theme.
It is called Milk just because it is mainly based on a minimal whitish (but not violently white) palette, combined with some light grays. The idea was to get a "flatter" "lighter" "brighter" theme. Maintaining all the details and cared work of the original theme.

Fix: pantheon-files selected folder description, now visible with brighter style and sharper font
Fix: now with new built-in window border, an elementary style lighter alternative
Fix: wingpanel item selection, now it's cooler ^_^
Added: New dark-mode triggered by some apps (foto, geye, terminal, etc)
And a couple of other small details.

Beside the palette, some of it's features are:
· gtk2 match (pain in the ass)
· wingpanel matching
· custom shadows
The window border is "Elementary Perfecto" in its "mac" flavour... you can download it from here [link]

How to install
----------------
1) Download and Unzip the file
2) copy it into /usr/share/themes ...you will need sudo permissions to do that.
3) apply the stuff copying into a terminal this line:
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme 'elementary_milk'
3a) revert changes entering
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme 'elementary'

Hola rhoconlinux, antes que nada enhorabuena por este gran tema. Comento aquí para pedirte un poco de ayuda. Verás, he hecho paso a paso lo que has puesto en la descripción, y no consigo instalar el tema... Bueno, sí se instala, pero mira como se ve: http :// puu . sh / cuqO2 / db2aec7070 . jpg
Te estaba intentando mandar un tree en la carpeta de themes pero la mierda de filtro anti-spam de DA no me deja. Así que si puedes decirme algún otro modo, perfecto.

Vale, lo conseguí al final llendo al tweaks y activando Tema de la Interfaz a theme-elementary-milk. Se ve increíble!

how can i install window decoration on my Ubuntu Studio 13.10? (XFCE) is it possible?

Hello ~dreamnymph , I think by pasting the uncompressed folder in /usr/share/themes/ would work. Sadly I'm not quite sure that it will performance properly (or be able to be used at all) cause the decoration was meant for gala (mutter, gnome) so, since that xfce uses a different window decorator engine... I won't give you much hope, but you can try!

The font is overlock...

where the font is "overlock" and the size is "11".

hola! asumo que usás elementary no?
si es así, todo lo que tenés que hacer es:
1) Descargar el archivo zip desde esta página (a la derecha está el botón)
2) descomprimir el zip.
3) cortar la carpeta que se descomprimió.
4) abrir una terminal (botón de aplicaciones en la barra superior - categoría accesorios).
Una vez en la terminal, tipea este comando:
sudo pantheon-files
Ojo, con esto es modo super-usuario, podés romper tu sistema si tocás cosas que no te diga. Así que seguí la guia cuidadosamente.
5) desde el navegador de archivos con super-usuario, ir a /usr/share/themes (comenzando desde "/", o sea desde el root filesystem, o sea que no podés subir más un nivel para "arriba"... de nuevo, ojo. Estas son todas carpetas de sistema, si hacés cagada tu linux no arranca más)
6) pegar la carpeta descomprimida en /usr/share/themes
7) ejecutar este comando en una terminal (click derecho, pegar, luego de copiar esto)
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme 'elementary_milk'

Como puedo elegir los botones de ventana estilo OSX? me siguen saliendo la cruz y las flechas. Pegué la carpeta en /usr/share/themes y he seleccionado todo con la herramienta de Elementary Tweaks.

Yeah, of course.
You have several ways to do that. The easiest one, is with Elementary Tweaks. To install it, run:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:versable/elementary-update -y && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install elementary-tweaks -y
and then search for it in the system-preferences menu. You'll find on the left the option to change the system font.
Another way is with the dconf-editor: run that program on the terminal and then browse org>gnome>desktop>interface and change the value of the entry font-name to one of your preference. Be careful with the name, you have to write it perfectly.
The third way is like the second one, but without any interface. You are able to modify the entry value directly from the terminal with one command, like this:
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface font-name 'overlock 11'
where the font is "overlock" and the size is "11".
All the three alternatives do exactly the same thing, which is apply the command of the third case. The only difference is how you do it. : )

He intentado instalar este tema y por algo desconocido no funciona. La carpeta la pongo bien en usr/share/themes, pero cuando pruebo con Elementary Tweaks el tema no cambia... Pero los que baje con "E.T" si funcionan... :/

tenés que descomprimir el contenido del .zip y pegar la carpeta "theme-elementary-milk" dentro de /usr/share/themes/ con una sesión de root de pantheon-files: abrí una terminal y escribí:
gksu pantheon-files
o click derecho en plank (dock) y "ventana como administrador nueva" -una traducción un poco rara debo decir-.

E.T = Elementary Tweaks. Intente como me dijiste, bueno así es como lo hacía en verdad pero no me funciona. Tienes TeamViewer? Que a lo mejor tu ves algo que yo paso por alto. Gracias.

qué raro... yo lo instalé así y lo configuré con elementary tweaks.
Probá
1) rebajar el zip, porque a mi me pasó (una vez) que DA me rompió los .xml del tema que estaban dentro del zip. cosa de mandinga.
2) esta linea de comando es la posta, si no te anda con esto, decime qué te sale en la terminal. Probalas de a una:
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme 'theme-elementary-milk'
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences theme 'theme-elementary-milk'
Y acordate que tienen que estar en /usr/share/themes/ (nivel de sistema) y no en ~/.themes/ (nivel de usuario).

Estoy puliendo errores de log que tiran las apps gtk cuando las corres... Una cagada porque como mezclé varios "templates" de index.theme y ahora quedó todo hecho un lío, je. Me gustaría arreglar eso antes de publicarlo, pero si no puedo, entonces lo largo en la semana si o si, porque ya está súper usable. Lo último, agregué al panel Miro, tomate, y un mod de un comando para spotify. Veremos y mil gracias por empujarme porque a veces me cuelgo y ya, como que pasa nada. Un abrazo grande

Lamentablemente no hay una forma "fácil" para cambiar el panel en Elementary, ya que hay que editar el tema gtk que uno está usando. Por ejemplo en el tema este, el panel está configurado de una forma, en el tema original, de otra. Puntualmente, hay que cambiar el archivo apps.css que tiene una sección sobre el panel. Los valores están en RGBA (rojo verde azul transparencia), o sea que el cuarto dato es la transparencia, con =1 completamente normal =0 completamente transparente.

hey, the terminal it's just pantheon-terminal, the one by default in elementary os. The font is "inconsolata", really recommended and it's free : )

oh no, I'm sorry. It is Elementary OS Luna+1 ...so it's frozen at gtk 3.4. The theme only may work properly in Ubuntu 12.04 and all versions of Elementary OS.
