Description
I recently figured out a different way to do paws that make them easier to work with, so here I am trying out some variations.Related content

They're so cute! I always figured raccoons had thinner feet though. Sleek and less defined because they're rodents...

Raccoons are in their own family known as Procyon!!
Their paws are digitigrade and have 5 toes!!

Raccoons are actually carnivores with plantigrade feet, somewhat like bears.

I think I will use it sometime... Only one thing: should be pads visible when paw is placed on ground?

Some pads, yes, like dog pads.

All my friend told me pads are never visible in that position... so they all was wrong...

I have more difficulty figuring out how to do pads on the hands of my anthro characters.

Well, yes, that is also hard. I have been wanting to figure out how to make a hand that is paw-like (or even hoof-like) and still functional.

I've tried a few designs that were modeled a bit like a primate's hands, which would seems largely functional enough, though I'm not entirely sure I like the design in such cases.

These are great, i may have to use them as a reference if i decide to draw more non-anthro stuff ^^

While I can't offer any critique, I do want to thank you for the references and for tips you gave elsewhere. I know a particular coon friend of yours will go crazy over this.

I wish I had even a small portion of your talent.
Is it easier for you to draw digitigrade paws like the canine / feline, or the more flat plantigrade raccoon feets? I suck at feets, and I don't mean that in the naughty way lol.
(btw: I read Housepets and I was a pet in a dream last night... it was ... odd...)

Well I could be lazy, and if I am, digitigrade is easier. If I'm trying something like this, they're about the same.

For raccoon feet, do you think it is a good idea to emphasize the contrast between the outermost and innermost toes? See, for example, [link]

Interesting... I've never actually taken the time to see the foot-pads as anything more than dots.
