Description
Closing hour in Athens - GreeceIt was a period, in my not so extensive past as a photographer, during which I was continuously seeking for the street photography. Under the strong influence of the great artists in this domain like the French Robert Doisneau, Cartier-Bresson, Willy Ronis and Marc Riboud or Robert Capa the (Hungarian) world traveler and the Americans Garry Winogrand and André Kertész, I was chasing street scenes with great perseverance, wasting tens of thousands of clicks to try and catch "something". As this self-imposed behavior has changed in the meantime and since my eye's preferences in photography have also undergone a certain twist in the last years, I am producing less and less street photography. The present time "isolated", by the corona virus war, in my apartment and digging thru older works, I just came across an older pic taken in Athens that keeps my previous "fingerprint" of searching for the "DECISIVE MOMENT", a moment telling a full story. Since, IMHO, this click was worth its post-processing, I present the result here for your judgement.

Straßenfotografie ist bei uns in Deutschland auch nicht mehr so einfach.
Wenn du solch ein Foto veröffentlichen willst, musst du dafür
die Erlaubnis des "Models" haben.
Dein Foto hier gefällt mir richtig gut!

Danke nochmals

The falloff in lighting while maintaining such clarity on the subject looks great in this. I like the DoF making the graffiti accessible as graffiti without it being too clear/attention demanding. Nice work.

It works! Thank again for sharing your adventures. Keep it up. I'm considering searching through my archives and those of my family to find some things to share as well.
Take care.

Pete, my friend, I am sure we have a lot in common ... the love of the great masters of the photography like that for Greece are perhaps just two instances.
With regard to your town, I could say it is one of the most marvelous places I saw in Greece and I have taken a lot of pics some of them uploaded in my "Greece" section, as for instance this one :
