Ermou - Athens - GreeceSometimes, I wonder myself, what would be the reason that some pics, mainly snapshots, have a significantly greater "exposure" than others ...
I am still looking after the answer and fighting "most objectively" to get through to the "truth" ...
The only element (common to those pics) that I could (hardly) identify is the overall ambiance that a pic might bring by catching the BEAT of a certain place.
IMHO, herein above there might be such an example ...

Marc, B&W is eventually eliminating a great deal of information and for me it always was quite questionable why should people prefer to use it in street photography if there is not a certain well defined reason as for instance the necessity to introduce some misterious atmosphere.
Thus for me the need of B&W is quite well limited and in no way imposed by street photography, as such, despite the fact that still a vast majority of street photography is B&W

Black and white comes from a technical deficiency of photography in its infancy.
Do painters paint in black and white?
Then black and white is often a way to erase the flaws of a color photo.
Finally, even if I use it sometimes, it should be only an exceptional way of transmitting an emotion: something that pleases us and upsets us is always in color at the moment we perceive it.
That said, I'm not for the colorization of black and white movies ...
