Thessaloniki wallsAs I was lately in a kind of "walls mood", so strongly imposed by reviewing the Berlin pics, I bumped accidentally on this Thessaloniki photo that I thought is "in-line" with my mood, so that I decided to upload it. I do hope it might have some impact on wall-lovers, especially on those preparing, like us, the detailed planning for a China trip that includes the true wall rolls Royce - THE GREAT (Chinese) WALL

Lovely shot! I remember how with my wife we used to walk along these fortifications high above the rest of the historic old town. I remember thinking how beautiful, Thessaloniki must have looked in the Byzantine period..... Thank you very much for sharing this, it is a great photo that brings memories

This is really incredible in the fullest view possible to see here!Β It makes me want to rub my palms against the bricks.Β I am a very tactile oriented person and love textures and find them very pleasing to touch.Β I have always been that way.Β It is not something people seem to talk much about.Β I don't know if that is the artist in me, or what.Β It is a very imposing structure.Β I love the sense of strength and protectionΒ I get from seeing this image.
