It happens quite often that the tension created between the subject of a photograph and its quality becomes a burden in the selection process. Personally, I always prefer the subject on the account of its quality and if the lack of modesty would not be so obvious, I would have make here use of the well known example of the few (very bad quality) images surviving the Normandy invasion that represent today perhaps the most significant testimony of this historic event and have been taken by the legendary Robert Capa ...
In this case, even though that the subject is not so historic, I believe that the ambiance caught on camera is somehow memorable ... but, as usual, the beholder has to judge it and decide, while the author has only to have the "guts" and risk his "reputation" !
A trial of updating the work by means of AI Sharpen of Topaz has nevertheless been considered and the results are presented in this update
