Lovely picture! And very nice ropework. Normally the type of ropework that looks too neat, elaborate or showy (I'm more a functionality kind of guy) is not my favorite, but this one works. The different "rhythms" the ropes create on different parts of you body give the picture a well balanced look. The lighting puts the focus on your hanging hair, shoulders and the soles of your feet, and all of them look very sexy. All in all, great job by all three of you!

The rope work started off very neat (like my first post from this set) but a late start and a short working day meant that more ropes were added rather rapidly as the ties got more complex....so they got a little messy looking.
We have talked about another shoot and since I'm now more familiar with it all, the emphasis will be on more suspensions but with more geometric and fancy ropework....so maybe not to your tastes!

Let me clarify first that I like anyΒ ropework on a beautiful woman, which is probably no news to you. It is under thatΒ prerequisite that I say that I generally prefer the simple and effective variety of bondage aiming more atΒ functionality, because it looks more "real" and less like the artistic creation of a master-rigger purely for the aesthetics.Β
As much as I like seeing ropes on creamy female skin, it certainly can be overdone. Some of the foremost Japanese shibari artists nowadays, for example, often use so much rope to create such intricate patterns that they shift the emphasis of bondage away from the real subject--the model--to the rope, and that's where they tend to lose me. I don't think I'm alone in the desire to watch and feel the model's reaction to being bound rather than admiring the knots and rope patterns.
But it's hard to blame them for going that route. After 50 years of taking and publishing photographs of naked young women in tight bondage in massive scale, I can certainly understand the feeling of "now what" among today's practitioners.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Shibari! I'd work with someone like Garth Knight for free...his stuff is just amazing!
I can understand why it's not to everyone's tastes since it's moved a LONG way away from the kinda Hogtied, sub/dom, purely sexual aspect of bondage. But from my perspective...as the boundee so to speak...it ticks all the boxes of total restraint but also becomes something beautiful and aesthetic...sex as art...i freeking love that idea!

I see your point there, and I can certainly understand your perspective in that, but I'll stick to my point that some of the contemporary shibari artists have gone so far in that direction that they have begun to take the eroticism out of this inherently erotic art form. This is not a criticism of their art, but just a statement of my personal preference. I'd like to see the model being the featured subject of a piece rather than the canvass to show case the ropework.

Bondage fetish has been around for hundreds of years so i don't think you can call it 'generational disconnect' like it's something us 'youngsters' have just started doing! I think it's just not your 'thing'...and that's ok, I'll try and find something that's more to your tastes for my next post...as it's Christmas!...lol.
