Dissidia fanart. ...and there should be more to come.
I decided I'd like to try some more dynamic poses for these.
EDIT Dec 28th 2009: Cleaned up the face and a few other areas.

This is an amazing piece of artwork. truly!
I love the background and the coloring light effects,
the cool colors in the background really make the dynamic pose pop out more than if you had used warm colors.
the pose is very dynamic, i must say,
and the anatomy is very correct, and I am very impressed with the shading and motion of the arms.
the reflective light on the sword is also very impressive, just watch out, its curved sort of.
The only critique I have is that cloud's face is a little bit warped to one side, I'm sure it was just a simple mistakee.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/sā¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="

Ah yes Cloud. Cloud! Cloud! Cloud! we all...love Cloud.
We love him so much that fan art of the sort pops up every single day to my knowledge. As Final Fantasy's most popular hero, you can't go anywhere without the mere mention of his name or the sudden appearance of fan art dedicated to him.
So to make a piece of fan art featuring square's most popular hero, one needs to stick out above the others.
As a picture by itself is stands out nicely. But at the same time it's nothing we haven't seen before. Lots of people can see a picture of Cloud in cool poses. What might have worked better for his psoe is facial expression. I know he's Cloud and he always seems to have that lifeless expression on his face. But there have been arts that were quite where they showed even more fierce determination. During a pose like this he seems artifically calm...even for him. Must be those Mako eyes or something.
And it looks like he's performing BRAVER. If he is he should be slicing directly at his opponent in front of him. Why's he looking the other way? Is he knowing someone's drawing him or snapping a picture of him per chance? ;-D
You did well perspective wise. That arm on the right came out nicely. a perspective like that is osmetimes hard to pull off. I supose his left leg is a little too stretched even for perspective's sake. It almost appears longer than his right leg.
His feet look pretty small too. They should be considerabely bigger, about the same size as his head.
It is nice cloud fan art; but it's 'Nice Cloud Fan Art' and needs ome more work for it to truly stand out.
But overall, nice job. Perspective and rendering is awesome.

I love this image, and because of that I used it (and the others in the set) to make Yugioh cards. I know this is wrong, as I did not ask for permission. Very nicely done and I must say that looks amazing that you got Cloud about to finish someone off with his Omnislash attack, which I still think is one of the best finishers in the series since Square began with using the limit breaks, aka trance aka overdrive.

The coolness shown here is so astounding, so very well done. You have placed so much detail into one of the most recognized Final Fantasy characters of all time (just my opinion, but most did get introduced to RPGs by FFVII).
