This is a birthday present for Velithya! ^^ Hope you like the finished version!So anyway, before the "why these two random characters" questions begin, here are the similarities:
-Both have red hair and wear black
-Both have markings/tattoos on their faces
-Similar personalities
-Both worked for the bad guys, but end up in a grey area later in their respective games
-Both have their own ideas about professionalism and following orders
-They have THE SAME VOICE ACTORS in both Japanese AND English. ...and French and German... and in at least a couple more languages.
-...and they're both awesome. Need I say more?
EDIT: I now have a poster of this picture signed by Quinton Flynn. Hells yeah!

Really cool picture of both my favorite characters from both Kingdom characters and Final Fantasy 7. Personally, Reno's my ultimate favorite and I think he's kinda cute βΊοΈ please don't judge

I heard somewhere that they wanted to include Reno in KH, but they decided to make a character based on Reno instead: Axel.

Actually, Axel is Reno in Kingdom Hearts. From what I read, it's official. Nomura wanted to put a Reno-esque character into KH, and hence was born Axel. Of course, this is third-party information coming from me, so... while I'm over 50% sure of this being fact, I could be wrong.

Reno and Axel are completely different characters. Maybe Tetsuya wanted a character similar to Reno, but he's not by any means supposed to be the same person.
Axel's former name was Lea anyway, before he became a nobody.

He is different, but Axel was based off of Reno.

No. Actually, while I've played the basics of Kingdom Hearts and have to finish Kingdom Hearts II, I am not really a fan. I love the music, but I just couldn't get over the mix of Disney and Final Fantasy. I really didn't see much to like in the main characters, either. Sora was okay, Kairi eh, and Riku ...

Hahaha okay. I really do see how the Disney parts can be annoying - some of the characters are quite obnoxious. I have a bit of sentimental attachment though, since it was the first game I owned and played on PS2 and my whole family played it

It's not the Disney parts so much as I can't see Sephiroth seriously having anything to do with anyone who had anything to do with Goofy and/or Donald. I just do not see the universes mixing.
