Description
I've posted this photo elsewhere so I thought I might as well upload it here too. It's been a long time coming, but now it's finally here - my first car. A 1981-model DeLorean DMC-12, better known as simply as a DeLorean. It's been fully repaired, restored, converted to right-hand-drive, roadworthied & road-registered.The icing on the cake: I managed to obtain the Australia-wide-exclusively-mine number plate combination SCIFI.
Also I acquired that shirt when I visited CERN/the Large Hadron Collider. Why yes I am a nerd.
Check out the view from the back !

How is the car going?
I was back in QLD in April but my trip was not as long as I hoped. I am always so busy when I am back in Australia. My brother lives in Woolangabba. I probably won't be back again until Xmas time. Would be cool to take some photos at night, in a shopping center car park! Or other movie related shots. As well, if I have time, I would photoshop them to add flame trails etc to look like in the movie! LOL.

So far everything has been pretty good! Just keep in mind that night photography of Stainless Steel can be difficult, so you might need an external flash unit, some lighting setups & maybe a bounce board or two. It depends what you're going after really, just the way the brushed Stainless Steel reflects & scatters light is interesting!

Where in QLD are you? Next time back home, probably March/April would love to take some photos of the car. Real nice ones, at night/sunset etc. I stay on the Sunshine Coast, my brother lives in Brisbane.

I'm in south central Brisbane, send me a PM some time.
Someone like you should have no trouble, but fair warning - the brushed stainless steel makes the car a little more difficult to photograph than normal automotive photography. It both reflects & scatters ambient light incredibly easily (just look at my hazy reflection in the bonnet!). You basically have to think of it like a dirty mirror. A polarising filter can help.
You can even alter the intensity of the brushed pattern by changing your lighting - a bounce board or two brings out the smooth gray appearance, whereas some point light sources make the brushed pattern extra-prominent.

Damn, this is your car now?! That's amazing! I've been attempting to catch a DeLorean for my vehicle-spotting page on Flickr; there was one that drove alongside me but my camera wasn't ready.
