This stunning stallion has found his Forever Home at Antique Fyre Stables !

History
Originally, Sultan came from a prestigious Arabian stud farm in mainland Europe where he was treated like gold, and after proving to be a strong competiton prospect, his breeders decided to sell him to generate funds.
He was bought by a wealthy man, to be a gift for his spoilt rotten daughter who had asked Daddy for a pure white arabian stallion for her birthday. She got exactly what she wanted.
But it quickly became clear that Sultan wasn't suitable for the girl, whose only experience came from riding lessons on perfectly behaved push-button school ponies, and as she was used to getting her way all the time, when Sultan didn't do exactly as she asked she would smack him with a whip and jab him in the side with her spurs, which of course just wound him up more and more until he'd had enough. And when Sultan has had enough, he gives you a flying lesson.
After one flying lesson too many, the girl decided she'd had enough (or, more likely, she'd found something else to be interested in) and Sultan was turned out into a field, never to be brought back in. He wasn't really neglected per se, he did have access to food, water and shelter, but he never saw a vet or farrier, and never had company.
No one's really sure what happened next, but we think Sultan must have gotten bored, jumped the fence in his field and injured himself in the process, as he was next seen trotting down the motorway like he owned the place, head and tail held high proudly, with blood dripping down the inside of his left hind leg. He was quickly rescued by the RSPCA, who were able to trace his owners, only to find that they didn't want to deal with the bother of taking him back.
After deciding that persuading the owners to take action was a hopless case, the RSPCA turned Sultan over to Riverside Meadows for rehabilitation and once his injury was stitched up he made amazing progress with the Riverside Rehabilitation team, and is now ready for his Forever Home.

Personality
Sultan is the kind of stallion who always has to have something to, or has to be able to see other horses, or he gets bored and when he gets bored, he will find his way out of wherever he's being housed, no matter how secure it is. He needs a firm but gentle handler who is confident and knows what they're doing. He's a fast learner and quickly picks things up, and is a very good judge of character, i.e he can tell if someone is a bit dodgy or not to be trusted, so to speak. He is a tremendously hard worker with barrels of stamina, and if you have his respect he will try anything you ask of him. He'll jump anything you put in front of him, or try to jump it, and if it's something he hasn't seen before he'll try to work out how to do it himself before letting you show him.
Sultan is truly an amazing animal if you have the patience to earn his respect - it may take some time but it's worth it, as once you have it you'll have a friend and partner for life!

We are looking for a forever home for this gorgeous boy, after the neglect he has been exposed to he will need someone who is patient and understanding.
The term "forever home" means he cannot be sold on after he comes into your care - we are not selling him to you, we are leasing him. The leasing is on-going and it's mainly up to you when or if you decide to give him back.
We would prefer it if you didn't change his barn name.
Feel free to register him with any groups/societies you like, and give him his own registered name!
Showing and competing with him is optional and allowed.
Breeding from him is optional and allowed.
Gelding him is prohibited.
Selling/leasing to others is prohibited.
The uses listed in his Information section are only suggestions but we feel he will be best suited to these. You do not have to use him for all of them.
If he becomes injured or ill whilst in your care, or passes away unexpectedly, please contact us ASAP to let us know.
Please treat him with care and respect - he is a rescued horse, after all!
If, for whatever reason, you find that you cannot keep this horse or decide you no longer want him, please DO NOT sell or lease him! He will always have a place back at Riverside and we will always be more than happy to take him back.
