This is VERY old....I'm digging in the archives for this. One of my first watercolor paintings. Since I'm from the north, I think lumberjacks are cool, and since I also think aliens are cool, why don't I combine them?This was a possible idea for a children's book a while back, maybe someday I'll get back to it.

Okay, I realize you intended this as an innocent children's book concept... but you know me and my interests... I look at this picture and all I can think is... "Oooo, A 3-Eyed Martian lurking around in the Forest... There's a good idea for a horror story...!!" I can just see this guy stumbling onto a campsite full of obnoxious teenagers and raising bloody hell with that axe.

I really love the blue you chose for the trees, it really balances nicely with the red of his shirt. The details in the trees are great, too.

What a great concept. I'd love to see it as a children's book.
I just realized your style reminds me a lot of Steven Kellogg's stuff. He was my absolute favorite children's book artist when i was a kid. I just ate his stuff up...especially Pinkerton. I can still picture his art in my head.
I can see kids saying the same thing about your books. So get on that...Emily and Allie need some good books

I have a really cool older kids book I unearthed in my parents attic written and illsutrated by Carol Spinney ( who plays Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch). He did a book about Oscar, he is a GREAT illustrator!
