Fire Lad-Staq Mavlen gained the power to breathe fire 🔥 when he inhaled the fumes of a meteor on his home planet of Swar. He came to Earth with the intention of joining the Legion of Superheroes. Unfortunately, during his tryout, he discovered that the atmosphere of Earth was more oxygen rich than Swar and that he was allergic to something in the air. The result was that his flames were more powerful and got out of control. Of course, he got rejected as being too dangerous. He found a hone with other rejects in the Legion of Substitute Heroes.
