Description
Here we have a shot of the long forgotten signal box of shaw, I know i have been posting shots in order but i thought i would post this now and it gives people time to have a good look at it and so i can send it to the #The-Railfan-Nation group.Well i say long forgotten, its was destroyed around the first week of October this year after being here for around about 150 years. It was at Shaw and Crompton Station on the Oldham Loop, Manchester. As many of you know from my recent submissions the Oldham Loop has been closed and will have no more trains on it again as trams will be replacing it. Hence why this photo is very historical.
Lucky for me whilst on the loop photographing the signal man let me in the box for a photo since he knew himself that it would be destroyed in coming months, sad to see such heritage thrown away.
Taken with 18-70mm Lens.

Sad that more of our heritage is going.
You are very lucky that you were allowed in to take the photo considering our phobic transport police.
Last year I was taking a picture of what remains of Newport (South Wales)old platform canopies and hanging baskets.
They are being replaced by concrete bus shelters like the ones at Bristol Parkway.
I was pounced on by a member of the T.P.
and told that it was illegal to take photo's on railway stations?
Ive been photographing all aspecs of railways since 1960s and never had this problem before.
I ramble on sorry. Love the photo and the dawing.

Its not illegal to take photos on Railway Stations, it says on the Network Rail website that you can and last time I checked Network Rail owned all stations. Also at Shaw station its unmanned and in the middle of nowhere and so no police LOL.
