Description ART 1040: Multiple Eye Levels

This one is all my own. My instructor did not like it at all, about how much color, since this class does not even include color at all. But I went my own way. The assignment was simple, 3 or more different eye levels. I used prismacolors, and newpaper for the creation. This is my personal favorite from that class. The form down at the bottom started out as a spark plug, then I got bored with it, and so I slowly started breaking it down like stairs into multiple levels, folding out and away from the orginal stock of the spark plug. Light pole with a sense of pop art touch. Iconic light house, I love it's shooting angle. At the top, the top is one side of a pair of sissors. The other tube, and stick was some nail polish from some magazine ad, I saw.

I believe that an atrist should show any and maybe all artwork, just in order to encompass a larger aspect on what and how the artist composses himself/herself in their artwork.

Freakin A! That looks down right amazing. You didn't actually draw this ON newspaper did you? Or were all the shapes individual that you collaged into this beautiful final form? You are inspiring me to give prisma colors a second chance. :-P

Umm, no, the newpaper was the last element that I did. This was an 104 assignment, and I got bored with it, so I added in prismas. This wasn't a focus on prismas though, but rather using different angles. Umm, collaged? Only newspaper, everything else is drawn. Thank you SO MUCH for your comment!!

Thank you. Ya, I kinda love horizon lines, and depth with lines, when bored in studio.

THANK YOU!! Ya, this is not too much prisma in it, but, I have done much larger prisma works.

I, for one, like the colors and use of newspaper. If defying authority it what it takes to create good artwork, then by all means, follow your heart!

I think it works very well - of course it may not demonstrate whatever point your instructor was trying to teach you, but that is another matter! Neil
