When the film was made the writers wanted to keep the Enterprise's destruction a secret, to strengthen the impact. Β Imagine how they must have felt the advert came out on TV with the voice over "the final voyage of the starship Enterprise", followed by a shot of the ship blowing up.

You did a fantastic job at capturing this scene. The death of the Enterprise, I agree, was one of the saddest character deaths ever. None of the other Enterprises will ever come close to her.

Trek 3 is among my favorite Trek films. This scene was powerful and demonstrated the desperation of the crew of the USS Enterprise. This would have made a fantastic poster to see in the cinemas. As someone else said, very dramatic.

This scene was so sad... the way the NCC-1701 was just burned off before the ship disappeared in a big explosion...

I like how they gave the scene weight the look on Scotty's face when he hears Kirk give the command for the self destruct. And then as the Enterprise enters the atmosphere of Gensis the crew looks on as the Enterprise crashes down!
