Chapter 119:
The A/The Machine Beast, Part 3.
Theme: To Heart - Kamen Rider Ex Aid OST
The world was numb to Robin's senses.
Everything around him was white as he flew through the air.
It all felt so slow as if he was flying through mud itself as he watched Zack disappear into the all consuming light that swallowed his body.
He felt deaf to the world as he only fell further and further away from Zack as he watched Zack vanish before him.
- Robin.......He heard Zack say in a soft, apologetic voice.
- Za......Zack! Robin gasped, his eyes wide as he was suddenly standing upright in the white void he found himself.
- Zack!! ZACK!!!! ZACK!!!! Robin yelled in despair filled desperation as he looked around the endless void that still roared in his ears and burned his eyes.
- ZACK!! WHERE ARE YOU?!! Robin yelled with a hoarse voice that was thick with emotions as he ran through the void.
It felt as if he was running without end, yet still not getting any closer to the voice that spoke to him. And had spoken to him in so many ways.
- I am right here Robin. Zack said in a soft, somber voice, an apology in his every word as Robin came to a stop, his eyes going even wider as tears started welling up.
- ZACK!! Robin yelled with a broken voice filled with a brittle hope as he turned around towards the direction that Zack's voice came from.
But when he turned around and found nothing but the endless void staring back at him, Robin felt himself crumble, his heart breaking in his chest.
- Zack.......Robin said in a hollow whimper as he collapsed onto his knees.
- Don't cry, Robin.....Please.....Don't cry.....Zack said again and Robin's eyes sprang open as he jolted, his head snapping back up, his eyes wide as he felt Zack's presence behind him.
- Zack......Robin said in a small voice, not daring to turn around as he felt Zack's hands on his shoulders.
- I promised you that I would make you stop crying, didn't I? Zack said in a low and honest voice.
- So please, don't cry for me.....I would hate it if you did......Because I would know that it was me that made you cry......And I wasn't there to help you stop crying. Zack said friendly in a low, almost casual voice as one hand disappeared from Robin's shoulder as Robin felt Zack's presence move away from him.
- Don't! Don't go, Zack! Please! Please, Zack! Don't go! Please!.....Please......Robin said in a desperate plea as he felt Zack moving away from him, fading into the void.
- I am not going anywhere, Robin. Zack said in a calm and somber voice as Robin whirled around towards his eyes wide. Only for his whole body to go rigid when he saw Zack standing before him. His back turned away, his white clothes melting into the void.
But he was there.
- Zack......! Robin said in a breathless voice as he stared at Zack's back, motionless.
Then Zack turned around, a small smile on his face as he looked down at Robin's face.
- At least not until I have made you stop crying. Zack said as he fully turned towards Robin and walked back to him, turning around without making another sound, then sighing as he sat down next to him.
- Zack.....Robin said in a low voice as he followed every move that Zack made before stopping when Zack turned his head towards him and smile.
- Relax Robin. I'm not going anywhere. Zack said with a small, humorless smile on his face.
- But.......But......You're dead.......Robin said in a low, heartbroken voice, flinching at the words that he dreaded to say. He closed his eyes at the words, letting out a barely held back cry of despair that broke free from within his breaking heart.
When he opened his eyes again, he was still in the white void that roared endlessly in his ears and seared against his eyes.
But he wasn't alone.
Zack was still there.
- Did you think I would disappear on you just like that? Zack said with half amused smile on his face as he raised a white eyebrow at Robin.
- After everything that I have said to you. And after everything that I have done for you, did you honestly think that just having you confirm it out loud what we both already know would change anything? Zack said with a lopsided grin on his face as he relaxed against the non-existent floor of the white void that surrounded them.
- As I said, I am not leaving Robin. I will stay by your side through thick and thin. No matter what happens and no matter what you do, I will always be by your side. Zack said truthfully in a low, honest voice as he leaned back onto his hands, his head turned towards the white sky above them before turning his head back towards Robin and giving him a sincere smile.
- But.......But.....You're dead Zack...You died......Protecting me......You died for me.....When you....You just as easily could have survived and saved us both.....But instead, you took the attack straight to the chest.....For me. You sacrificed yourself for me. Robin said in a low voice, brimming with untold words and emotions as he faltered at his every sentence, barely feeling himself capable of finishing any of them.
Zack let out an amused laugh.
- Let me tell you that it hurt like hell. But it was worth it in the end. Because even in the end, you survived the attack. You will survive this battle, Robin. And you will survive my death and my absence. I know you will. And you want to know how I know that? Because I know you, Robin. You always survive. That is what you are good at. Surviving. So keep up the good work and continue to survive the world. Keep on living for those whose lives have been cut short. I know you can do that. Because that is what you are good at Robin. Living. So live on. Move on. Keep living your life as you want it. Zack said in a soft, almost serene voice of sincerity as he looked at Robin with a warm expression on his face.
- Zack.....Robin said in a touched, yet heartbroken voice as he pulled back a hand from Zack, only for Zack to reach out his hand towards him and grab hold of his hand.
Robin's breath caught in his throat as he looked at Zack with eyes filled with disbelief and heart ache.
- Don't worry Robin. I am here for you. And I will always be here. I won't leave your side ever again Robin. That I promise you. Zack said in a voice that all but said "Goodbye" to Robin.
- But how....How will you manage that?....How will you do that when you're dead? Robin said in a voice of confusion tinged with despair.
- Because I am Here, Robin. Zack said as he moved Robin's hand over to him and placed it over his heart.
- And I will always be here, Robin. Zack said as he placed his hand on Robin's chest.
Robin didn't say a word.
He couldn't.
He just couldn't say a thing.
His eyes were wide, his body rigid as he looked between Zack and himself and where Zack had placed his hand, and where he held his own hand.
Zack gave him a warm, kind and reassuring smile.
- As long as you remember me, I won't be going anywhere. Zack said reassuringly as he removed his hand from Robin's hand.
But Robin wasn't moving a muscle.
He was keeping his hand where it was.
Over Zack's heart.
Even if he could feel that it wasn't beating anymore, he was still keeping his hand over it.
Because he knew that Zack's heart was his.
Just as his hearts belonged to Zack.
- I am not going anywhere, Robin. I am right here. And I will always be right here. Whenever you need me, I will be there for you. Remember that. Now......I think it is time for you to go Robin. Zack said in a sincere voice, his words carrying a deep promise.
- No! No, wait! Please don't go, Zack! Please! Robin yelled in a desperate voice as he blinked back tears at Zack's words as he all but threw himself at Zack.
But Zack was gone.
And he was alone.
- Go on and live Robin. Zack's voice echoed from the distance of the white horizon of the wide void.
Then the deafening silence vanished into one massive, deafening, howling roar of energy before Robin crashed into the ground, his head smashing into the ground hard enough to uproot burnt grass and covering his head in the soil.
Theme: Bionicle Mata Nui saga music
- Zack.....Robin said breathlessly, his eyes wide and filled with tears and his ears ringing.
He laid on the ground for a long moment that felt like an eternity, but in reality, was nothing more than a couple of seconds.
His hand was still reaching out through the air, towards the sky.
Towards were Zack once was.
But where he once was, was now nothing more than a deep, smoldering crater.
Pitch black smoke rose from the crater into the air as the air itself was signed by the screeching explosion whose's howl still resonated through the desolate park.
The stench of death and burned skin permeated the air as the flames born from burning skin and organic matter raged within the crater where Zack once was.
Black burned pieces and splotches of organic matter laid scattered across the street and around the crater.
The slithering, hissing and withering black burned piles of the slowly coagulating matter was completely unrecognizable as any sort of internal organs or limbs of any kind.
And they were all that was left of Zack Moonchild.
Nothing more but slowly dying monstrosities that laid scattered over countless cracks in the street around a crater filled with a boiling, bubbling, burning black soup that was slowly evaporating into the air with a foul stench.
Everything that once was Zack Moonchild laid in pieces scattered haphazardly in a ring of destruction around the center point of the explosion that had destroyed Zack Moonchild in a single go.
And as Robin slowly lowered his hand and pushed both of his hands into the ground and heave himself up from the place where he laid, he saw what Zack had become.
- Zack! Robin said in an appalled and horrified shock, his eyes with both despair and horror when he saw what had happened to the street and what had happened to Zack.
Zack Moonchild was no more.
The explosion had made sure of that.
He would never recover, nor be able to regenerate again.
Zack Moonchild would never live again.
- One down. One to go. Lancer said in a low, apathetic growl as he lowered his Hawk Crossbow as he and Antz-o-in watched the flames burn away the black liquid that the slithering monstrosities became as they died and dissolved.
His one, lone headlight shaped eye scanned the tower of black smoke and then looked past it. Landing on Robin and locking onto him the moment it managed to look past the black smoke.
- Continuing mission: Extermination of Kamilitron's mission. Lancer stated in a cold, almost mechanical monotonous growl as he started lumbering towards Robin's still downed form.
- I think one dead enemy is good enough for a day Allianser. Antz-o-in said in a worried and taken aback voice.
- No! One dead enemy is NEVER enough! As long as let one enemy live, that enemy will always come back to bother you and us again! Lancer retorted with a harsh, ruthless growl without even turning around towards Antz-o-in as Antz-o-in let out a startled yelp at Lancer's icy tone.
- As long as we go easy on our enemies when they are weak and helpless, as long as we pity and spare them, this war shall continue. And death shall fester in the galaxy. Lancer said resolutely as he marched towards the tower of black smoke that shielded Robin from their view.
But did not hide Robin from the heat sensors in his optic.
- And causing, even more, deaths shall cease the death's festering? Antz-o-in couldn't help but ask as he crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow at his servant.
Lancer came to a stop for a moment.
- No. But it will end the war. Lancer said in a low, resolute voice as he resumed his march towards Robin.
- Look. Allianser. You are protecting me. And you are following my orders. You obviously care a lot about my protection. So shouldn't you care about my emotional well-being as well? While seeing your great adherence to me and your loyalty pleases me, seeing you about to execute an enemy that is downed, displeases me. Antz-o-in said in a cold, authoritative voice as he leveled a frigid stare at Lancer's back.
- He is not lying down anymore. Lancer stated calmly as he stopped where he was.
Right between the tower of smoke and Antz-o-in.
- I am not. Robin said from the other side of the pillar of smoke as the smoke began to dissipate into the air.
- You're still here Robin. I thought you would run for the hills to cry your heart out after that. I was even going to try reign in Lancer here to give you some time to grieve and mourn. You should know that I usually let you cry to your heart's content by now. So.....Why did you not take the chance the smoke screen gave you and run away from here? Antz-o-in said in a calm, perplexed, but intrigued voice.
- Because Zack is dead. Robin said in a low voice as he slashed a hand through the air and with a single motion split the tower of flames in two so that the three of them could see each other.
- Yes. Indeed he is. Anzt-o-in stated in a flat, factual voice.
- And you are next. Lancer said with a low, flat growl as he took a few steps towards Robin, the exhaust pipes wrapped around his arms and legs spewing out thick streams of smoke where he stood.
- Good luck with that. Robin said with a dark smile on his face as he pulled his power blade back into his hand, grabbing hold of it tightly before he slammed his thumb on the activation button.
The golden blade screeched to life as it rose through the air with an angry hiss as Robin stood his ground.
- Because I am a survivor. Robin said in a low, calm voice as he glared at Lancer where he stood.
- And I have survived worse things than this. Robin continued as he raised his blade through the air towards Lancer and Antz-o-in.
- And I am going to survive a fight or two with you as well. Robin growled heatedly as he held his glare with Lancer.
- I shall not surrender after this! I shall NEVER SURRENDER TO YOU!!! Robin roared in a voice of pure fury and determination, his expression becoming livid as he thrust his sword through the air, leaping across the ground towards the crater and rushing towards Lancer with a cry of purest rage.
- Then you will die. Lancer stated in a cold, factual voice as he raised his arm and took aim at the rapidly approaching Robin.
Theme: Sengoku Basara 3 OST: Disc 1 - 4. Ieyasu Tokugawa's Theme HQ
- NOT!! A!!! CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Robin roared as he burst through the pillar of smoke with a massive, blinding shower of light pouring out of him as he rushed towards Lancer at a blinding speed.
Antz-o-in reacted quickly and threw himself out of the way of the massive wave of light that came hurtling towards them.
But Lancer only braced himself and raised his hands over his head.
The next second the wave crashed into him with enough force to make him slide across the ground.
And then Robin SMASHED his sword against the Hawk Crossbow to nearly ripping the secured metal contraption off of his arm. If not rip off his entire arm in that single strike.
But it was enough to pull Lancer's arm away from his face and send several bolts and panels from his shattering weapon flying together with bolts, screws and metal panels from his arms.
- HRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lancer cried out as his eye was flooded with the piercing, blinding golden light that rushed over his body with the force of a tidal wave.
And then Robin buried his hand in his head, sending his head flying in a shower of mangled pieces of his head armor.
The glass in his visor cracked beneath the single punch pummelling that sent him stumbling to the side.
And then Robin spun around and with a roar from himself and his blade, THRASHED and BASHED his sword against him, his blazing sword screeching through the air as it sliced, cut and cleaved across the armor.
- RRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!!!!!!!! Robin roared in fury, rage, and determination as he continued slashing his sword across Lancer's armor, while continuously bashing his feet and fist into the armor after every slash.
Pieces of Lancer's armor were flying in every direction as Robin his seemingly endless and merciless assault on him.
Lancer showed no mercy towards them, so why should he show any mercy to him?
And then, with one final roar of fury, Robin relented his attack by finishing up with a wide swipe of his sword that sent it screeching through the air as it sliced across Lancer's armor before delivering a harsh wallop to his head and brutal kick to his side.
Lancer went tumbling away from his attack as Robin spun through the air before landing deftly on his feet, a snarl breaking through his lips as he glared on Lancer's rolling form.
Then the moment that Lancer stopped, he rose onto his hands and pushed himself off his knees and back onto his feet again.
- Grrraaaarrraaaauauuuuuurrrrgrgghhhhh......Lancer growled as he forced himself back up, his lone, uncovered visor glaring at Robin.
- There is the proof of the power that you hold. And the threat that you pose. Lancer said with a low and flat growl as he steadied himself on his feet as oil leaked out from cut wires and tubes beneath and around the broken and cut open metal panels that made his armor.
Robin didn't say a word in response, instead, he let out a dark growl before h dashed towards Lancer once again, his sword howling as it surged through the air.
Lancer straightened himself, took aim at Robin and fired.
But Robin reacted on instinct and threw himself out of the way of the ice blue arrow and dived to the side as Lancer let another arrow fly towards his head.
And once again, Robin quickly leaped out of its way, rolling onto the ground and then pushing himself back to his feet and taking off into a dash towards Lancer as Lancer continued his assault.
A surprisingly loud roar caught Robin by surprise for a split second before his eyes went wide went a wall of flames came barreling down from above Lancer's head.
Reacting as fast as he could, Robin abandoned his attack and leaped back and away from the flames as they crashed into the street in front of him.
The asphalt melted beneath the roaring flames as the Dragon car came roaring through the flames towards him, spitting even more flames.
Robin had barely gotten out of the way of the Dragon's stream of fire before he had to throw himself out of the way of an arrow flying towards his head and then another one howling towards his heart.
But Lancer's arrows and the Dragon cars flames weren't his only obstacle from landing another hit on Lancer.
Because Lancer's Octopus car came squeaking towards him, spewing out both ink towards his eyes and filling the air with a black smoke that covered the street and hid Lancer from Robin's view.
Not that Robin did not have a hard time of knowing where Lancer was since even when a wall of flames and cover of black smoke between them, Lancer was still firing his arrows at him.
But that still made Robin a bit too sure of himself, because barely a moment later, Lancer came stampeding through the black smoke with a roar from himself and the unbent exhaust pipes that spewed fire into the air behind him as he took a swing of his Hawk Crossbow towards him.
- Break! The KnuckleGun declared as Robin reacted quickly and dodged out of the way of the slightly bending wings of the Hawk Crossbow as it turned into its Axe form as Lancer swung it through the air.
- HRRRAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!! Lancer roared as he swung his Hawk Axe at Robin, the wings whistling through the air towards Robin's head as Robin threw his head backward.
But Robin still felt the sting of the blade slicing through his already ripped and torn shirt and cutting across Robin's chest.
Robin hissed as he felt the blades slash across his torso as he threw himself back.
But even with his blood decorating Lancer's blades, he did not stop.
Nor did he stop when he blood dripped onto the ground, both from his chest and from Lancer's blade.
Robin couldn't quite stop the gasp of pain that came from him as he felt himself lose his balance and fall onto his knees, a hand on his bleeding chest.
- Your blood has been spilled. Now say your prayers and you shall be reunited with Zack Moonchild shortly.Lancer growled as he straightened himself up after the strike against Robin, the Dragon car roaring beside him as the Octopus car squeaked beside him.
- I don't pray. Robin said in a firm, resolute voice as he let out a breath of heated air from his mouth as he forced himself back onto his feet.
Closing his eyes for a moment, Robin let out a long, calming breath as he allowed the sun that still stood high in the sky shine down over him.
- Then there is nothing that shall prolong your death. Lancer growled as he started marching towards Robin.
- NO! Robin yelled as he opened his eyes and with another shower of light dashed across the distance between him and Lancer and was in front of him in barely the blink of an eye.
- GRRRAAAAAAAAARRGH!!!!! Lancer groaned as his vision was flooded with light once again and quickly raised his Hawk Axe to shield him from the blinding light as the Dragon car roared and zipped through the air towards Robin, spewing flames once more.
The Octopus car in the meantime acted quickly and spewed a cloud of black smoke right in front of Lancer and into the golden light that was assaulting Lancer's every sense.
But no sooner had the Dragon car spewed its flames and the Octopus car had sent out its black smoke cloud then both were pushed right back onto Lancer.
- Gnrrraaaaaaarrrgh! Lancer growled in shock as his vision was blackened by the smoke that suddenly rolled in front of his optics.
Both cars let out sounds of shock as they were flung back through the air by a wave of force that rippled through the air and sent them crashing into Lancer.
But by the time that they hit Lancer, he had already been blinded by the smoke and not a moment later, the Dragon cars flames smashed into Lancer with a howl.
- GRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!! Lancer growled as he was blown back by the flames as they scorched across his armor, igniting the oil that had spilled out from beneath his armor plates.
- Ggaaauauaaggh....Gnngraaaaaaararargh!!! Grrarararaararararararararrrrrrrrgh!!!! Lancer howled as the flames spread across his armor, causing miniature explosions to ripple all over his armor as the sparks of the fires and bursting wires filled the air around him.
Electric and fire sparks started flying around him as he slowly backed away, his lone eye flickering on and off repeatedly as slowly staggered out of the cloud of black smoke and flames.
And then Robin flew straight out of the black cloud, delivering a double footed kick straight to his chest, sending both him and even more plates and panels of his armor flying.
Then, as the two of them were soaring through the air, Robin pushed himself off of Lancer and sent him barreling through the air even faster.
But then Robin grabbed hold of his right arm and pulled himself back at Lancer, only to then slash his sword vertically across his armor, slicing it clearly across the middle in a single strike.
- GRNNRRARAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!! Lancer roared as the armor started breaking and splitting across the middle where the sword cut through it.
And then Robin smashed his fist right into the center of the crack in the middle of his helmet, making his head snap back from the collision that sent his head rattling against the sides of the cramped helmet.
Not even a moment after Robin had punched him, Robin spun around and nearly snapped Allianser's neck with the kick he delivered to his head.
The follow-up kick that came immediately after the first kick that sent Allianser's head rattling around inside Lancer's helmet sent him spiraling through the air.
But Robin wasn't done with him as he spun around once again, swinging his wide in a wide, slashing arch across his torso once again before smashing his open palm onto Lancer's helmet.
Then the helmet started breaking open like a broken egg as Robin sent Lancer flying away from him with a blast of force straight to his head.
And as Lancer let out a howling roar, Robin spun around again and delivered another vertical strike to Lancer's armor.
Lancer smashed into the street near his motocrosser in a shower of pieces of his own armor as Robin hit the ground on both his feet.
- Grraararararaararararaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrghhhhhh........Lancer growled through the beaten and broken voice modulator of his helmet as he pushed himself out of the pile of armor pieces that had bombarded him when he had hit the ground and slid across the street on his reinforced back.
- Who is it now that should give up, Lancer? Robin said in a cold, yet confident voice as he raised his blade towards Lancer as he slowly rose back onto his feet.
- So much for that 5-star debut. Antz-o-in said with a disappointed sigh as he looked out from beneath his cover behind Allianser's motocrosser.
- This is not over yet, Robin Lightwalker. The battle is far from won. Lancer growled as he steadied himself on his feet.
- You're right. Robin said with a displeased nod of agreement, his face blank of any emotions beyond contempt.
- This isn't over Allianser. I will make you pay for what for what you have done. That. I promise. Robin said in a low and frigid voice as he glared at Lancer with a look of pure contempt. His eyes never leaving Lancer's form as he leveled his sword towards him.
- This battle cannot go on forever. Sooner or later, you will have to give into your exhaustion. And when that moment of weakness comes, I will strike you down. Lancer said in an even more frigid and low voice than Robin as he slowly steadied his stance and straightened his shoulders as he prepared himself for another bout of the battle.
- I was about to say something similar myself. But now, I don't have. Robin said in a calm voice as he swung his sword in his hand before he spread his legs and prepared himself for yet another round of the fight.
- You are showing plenty of signs of exhaustion. I have still to even break a sweat. You do not have the energy to prolong your inevitable defeat for much longer. You will give into your exhaustion. And when that happens, I shall reunite you with your beloved Zack Moonchild. Lancer said in a low, flat and apathetic voice as he slowly started lumbering towards Robin once more.
- Don't! YOU! DARE! say his name YOU BEAST!!! Robin snarled in a voice of pure rage as his face twisted into a grimace of wild fury and contempt as tensed his muscles for his next strike.
- Let's end this, Robin Lightwalker. Lancer said in a flat, disinterested voice as he spread out his own arms and legs as he started marching towards Robin, his exhaust pipes billowing out a thick stream of smoke behind him.
- I agree. A calm, smooth and icy voice said from out of their sights.
- What the! Robin, Lancer and Antz-o-in cried out at the same time.
The next second, a blast of electricity rippled through the air and barreled straight into Lancer's chest with a howling crackle of energy.
- GRRARRARARARAARARARAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGH!!!!!!!!!!!! Lancer roared as he stopped in place the moment he was hit by the blast of pure energy that quickly spread across his entire armor. The energy rippled and shirked as it licked every single panel of the armor, electrocuting the metal and flooding every piece of wires, tube, and pipe that was spread out in a thick layer beneath each blue piece.
- GYYRRAERARARARARARARARARARARAararaaararararaaraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrgh!!!! Lancer howled in agony as the electricity roared across his entire body.
And then, with a screech, the energy disappeared from his body, almost as fast as it had appeared.
- Gyyuaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagghh.....aaaaaaaaaaauuuuuuuugggghh.......Uuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhh.....Lancer groaned once the energy vanished.
Then he collapsed onto his knees, Lancer crumbling to pieces around him as Alianser fell out of the shattering armor, eyes wide with terror and short for breath as hands fell to the ground.
- ALLIANSER!!! Antz-o-n cried out in shock as he ran out from behind his cover and to Allianser's hunched form.
- That was electricity.....Allianser gasped in a shocked voice as he put a trembling hand over his heart.
- I am a Deep Sea Curondien.....Allianser said in a low, breathless voice as he turned his trembling head towards Antz-o-in.
- Electricity of any kind is lethal to all Sea Curondiens. Allianser said in a shuddering voice, his eyes wide with both terror and confusion.
- That should have killed me......Allianser continued as he looked down at his body.
He was still alive and breathing.
Horrified and shocked, but alive.
- I should be dead by now. Allianser continued as he slowly pushed himself properly onto his knees as he looked down at his trembling hands.
- Indeed you should be, Allianser. The rich, smooth and elegant voice said as the sound of reinforced boots hitting the pavement echoed across the stifling silence.
As one, the three of them turned towards the direction of the voice and saw a man dressed almost entirely in black approach them.
- Octon Shorch. Allianser stated in a low, flat and calm voice the moment he laid his eyes on the black dressed man that looked at the world through black tinted glasses.
Octon gave them all a placid and frigid smile as he entered the crossroad where they were.
He looked past both Robin and Allianser, not even deigning any of them more than a second of attention before he turned towards Exit.
And when he laid his eyes on Antz-o-in, his smile went from placid to frigid.
- There you are Exit. Octon said in a cool and rich voice as he drummed his Tesla coil cane against the ground beneath him.
The cane's singular boom drumming against the ground with a boom of finality as his frigid smile turned cruel.
- I have been looking for you. Octon stated in a formal, regal and elegant voice, his eyes never leaving Antz-o-in as the sun was reflected in his black tinted glasses.
Chapter 120:

Theme: Fire Emblem: Fates (OST) ► Garon, King of Nohr
Silence followed his calmly stated statement as he looked at Antz-o-in for a long, stiff moment.
Assessing him.
Evaluating him.
Then he gave a displeased and almost haughty sounding "Hmph" of displeasure as he turned away from Antz-o-in and looked down at Allianser were he was kneeling. His eyes never leaving Octon for even a second.
- I do not know why you were chosen to come back to life, Allianser. But I do know one thing. And that is that I will be more than happy to kill you again if I have to. Because just like you have a mission to protect Exit. I have a mission to kill him. And I will gladly make your death stick this time if you dare get in my way. Octon said with a rich and elegant voice as he leveled a cold and apathetic expression at Allianser's blank expression.
- Don't you dare lay a finger on Kamilitron. I will not allow you to harm him. Allianser growled flatly as he straightened himself, leveling a cold glare of his own at Octon.
- Hmph. What an admirable devotion you have. Even if you are nothing more than a soulless and empty husk of a man that once was. Octon said with an expression of displeasure and disgust on his face as he sneered down at Allianser where he knelt on the ground in a pile of his own broken armor.
- Though I have to say that it quite impressive that you are still willing to fight even after having no doubt exhausted yourself in such a taxing battle as the one that I just ended for you. Octon said arrogantly with a matching grin on his lips to boot as he leered at Allianser.
- I can still fight. And I will fight. I will fight anyone that dares to stand in Kamilitron's way or threaten his life. I will defend his life with my own. Allianser stated in a seemingly unflappable calmness, even if his dedication, belief, and devotion in his words were clear for all to hear.
- Then your second life will be even shorter than your first, Allianser. Octon stated with a knowing and factual voice as he tightened his grip on his staff and raised it off the ground.
- Now.....Octon said in a low voice as he walked across the street and stopping right in the middle of the street. Right between Allianser and Robin before then turning halfway towards Robin and leveling a vapid smile towards him.
- This battle does not concern you, Robin. So if you would please run along and get away from here, it would be highly appreciated. My associates will deal with you shortly no matter what you do. While I deal with Exit and his hollow imitation. Octon said with a commanding and powerful voice as he changed his grip on his cane so that the Tesla sphere on the top of the cane was no longer obstructed by his black leather glove.
- It does! This battle does concern me! And you cannot just waltz in and decide that it doesn't! Robin snarled with a heated growl as he raised his golden blade towards Octon, a grimace of rising fury on his face as he leveled a fury filled glare at him.
But Octon was completely unphased by his reaction.
Instead, he seemed more amused by it than anything.
- I am a man of a much higher status here, both within the galaxy and right here, in Sector 5 than you, Robin Lightwalker. And it is my privilege as one of the ones in the 0.1 percent of the galaxy to decide for others what they should think and do. So please, vacate this area immediately, Robin. Or you shall join Allianser's and Exit's gruesome fate. Octon said with a proud and rich voice, a smug and arrogant smile on his face as he raised his cane towards Robin.
Robin's glare remained focused on Octon where he stood.
- I decide what I will do and what I will not do. And I will not allow you to interfere with my battle with Allianser. He will DIE here today. By MY HANDS! NOT YOURS! Robin declared as his glare only grew wilder as his glare became even more intense.
- I agree. Allianser said in a low, cold voice as he leveled a dark glare at Octon's back.
- This is our battle. Allianser stated in a factual, unyielding voice as he regained control over his trembling limbs.
- Interfere, and you will die. Allianser finished with a note of both honesty and cold, ruthless finality.
Octon's smile vanished off his face.
- I really don't want to kill someone that I have not been ordered to kill. But I will you if I have to. And I will take on you all if that is necessary. Octon said with a grimace of disgust and displeasure as looked between the three of them.
- And once I have fried you both, I will deal personally put an end to you as well, Exit. Octon said as he turned away from Robin and turned back towards Antz-o-in.
- You won't lay a finger on Kamilitron! Allianser declared in a furious voice as he thrust his KunckleGun into the air before slamming it into the ground hard enough for it to crack beneath the pushed in barrel of the gun part.
The four beat rock song played for barely a second before Allianser pulled the gun off the ground and leaped into onto his feet as he did so.
- Break Up! The KnuckleGun declared as Allianser thrust it and his clenched fist into the air as energy swirled around him once more.
The next second, every single fallen piece of Lancer's armor surged towards him again, rushing towards him before stopping just a few inches ahead of him.
Every single piece of Lancer's armor, be it wires, tubes, pipes, panels, nuts or bolts swirled and swiveled around Allianser in the cylinder of energy that swirled around him.
Half of all the pieces spun around Allianser clockwise while the other half spun around him counter clockwise.
And then every single piece stopped at their designated places and smashed together as they flew onto and over Allianser's entire body as the energy surged into him.
The countless parts smashed together with a metallic crash as the energy lit up every single piece of the armor as it was welded together once more.
- Broken Lancer! The KnuckleGun declared as Lancer's repaired, singular visor lit up as he leveled it at Octon.
- Hhhrrrrrrrrgrrggggggggg.........Lancer growled in a low voice as he straightened himself and tightened his fist.
- I will not allow it. Lancer declared in a fierce and frighteningly calm growl, as he barely even moved an armored muscle as he leveled his gun towards Octon.
But Octon was both unphased and unamused by his display, or by his words.
- Very well then.....Octon said with a resigned sigh as he looked behind himself, only to see Robin take a few slow and steady steps towards him.
- If it is a fight that you want.....Octon said with a bored and tired sigh as he clenched his fists and fingers while stretching his arms.
- Then so be it.....Octon continued as the air around him crackled, sparks flying between his finger tips and from the Tesla sphere on his cane.
- I will fight you both. Octon said as his skin buzzed with electricity.
- That won't be necessary. A fifth voice said from within the trees.
The next second, the ground around Octon's feet exploded into a shower of destroyed asphalt and laser sparks that flew into the air, forcing Octon to step away from Robin as the small barrage continued flying out from between the trees.
- What the?! Octon cried out as he shielded himself from the showers of sparks and asphalt that hailed down around him.
- What now? Robin asked with a tired sigh as he turned around towards the direction the shots were coming from.
- What is this?! Who is this?! Show yourself! NOW!! Octon demanded in a frustrated growl as the air around him was filled with electricity as his skin tingled with the energy that burned beneath it.
- My pleasure. The attack said calmly and the bushes and branches of the trees not far away from where Robin stood began to shift as the individual that had fired at Octon stepped forth.
- This day is certainly filled with surprises if nothing else. Antz-o-in said with a half amused and half intrigued voice.
And then the attack stepped out from within the shadows of the trees and Robin's eyes went wide.
- CRAIG! Robin yelled in wide eyed shock and surprise at the sight of Craig stepping out of the shadows of the trees, brandishing a sleek gun that was aimed towards Octon.

- Hello, Robin. Need some help? Craig asked in a flippantly casual voice, even if his whole body was rigid as he slowly prowled out from between the bushes and trees, his eyes never leaving Octon, nor his hold on his gun that was trained him wavering in its place even for a bit.
- Yes. Anything to even the odds. Robin said in an excited voice, a determined grin appearing on his blood caked and sooth covered face.
- Sorry to disappoint you Robin, but I am not here to help you, I am here to get you out from here. Craig continued in the same casual and calm voice as he stepped onto the street.
- What?! Robin yelled in a shocked and frustrated voice.
- Sorry, Robin, orders from up high. Craig said with a shrug an apologetic voice as he looked everyone that was standing in front of him and Robin.
He barely held eye contact with both Octon and Lancer for more than a few seconds before turning his head away from them.
But when he laid his eyes on the red eyed Antz-o-in he froze on the spot.
- Hoh booooy.......Things just became a lot more complicated, didn't they? Craig said as he took a few steps back towards Robin, his skin paling as he shivered where he stood.
- You could say that. Robin said with a grim look on his face as he walked up to Craig's side.
- But what was all this about orders from higher up? You mean Sam sent you? Robin asked in a serious voice that still managed to convey his confusion.
- No. She didn't. I was sent here by my own commander. We happened to be in Sagittarius City anyway. And when he heard that something was going on in Arrow Rain Park he sent me to investigate what was going on. When that happened to be a battle that you were involved him, he told me to interfere and pull you out of it as soon as possible. Craig informed in casually as he took a few more steps forward. Enough to be a bit ahead f Robin and standing in between him and anyone that would attack him.
- I have plenty of questions. Like why should your commander care about me? And what does he want with me? And more importantly, what are the two of you doing in Sagittarius City? Robin asked in a hushed and serious voice as he leaned up towards Craig.
- My commander isn't a branch chief like yours is. The one I follow is one of the highest commanders of The Eclipse. Craig answered in a calm, but a cryptic voice.
- What?! Robin said in wide eyed shock.
- And the reason why he wants you in one piece is that he needs you to be in one. And the reason why we are here in Sagittarius City is that we have something important to tell all members of The Eclipse. And my commander likes doing things in person. So that is why we went here. Craig explained cryptically as he quickly looked at everyone that heard him answer Robin's questions.
- So....All the pieces are now falling into place. Antz-o-in said in a frigid and frighteningly calm voice as he grinned a nightmarish grin at Craig.
- That can't be good. Craig said with a shiver as he felt his whole body tremble at Antz-o-in's words.
- Let's leave these three to their fight and get out of here. Craig said as he raised he slowly started backing away from Octon, Lancer and Antz-o-in.
And then he shifted his blaster to his other hand and grabbed hold of Robin's shoulder and promptly started dragging him away.
- HEY! I can walk by myself Craig!! Robin yelled as he Craig spun around so that he was facing away from the three of them as Craig pushed him further and further down the street and away from the three.
- I know. But I don't want you rushing into their battle and the sooner we get away from here and meet up with my commander, the better. Craig said in a resolved voice as he kept pushing Robin away and into the forest around the street.
Octon watched it all with a half amused eyebrow raise and a faint smile on his lips.
- Well.....There they went. Octon said with a small sigh of relief.
- Now I don't have to kill people not meant for me to kill. Octon said as he straightened himself again as he turned away from Robin's and Craig's retreat and turned back towards Lancer and Antz-o-in.
- Now.....Where were we? Octon said with a cold and indifferent smile that still portrayed both arrogance and amusement as Lancer took a few steps towards him and blocking Antz-o-in from his view.
- HHhrrrrrrrrgrgggggggggghhhh........Lancer growled at Octon as he clenched his fist and raised his KnuckleGun towards him.
- I will not allow you to harm Kamilitron. Lancer declared in a low growl with a note of unyielding finality to his declaration.
- Let's see how long you can keep yourself to your word. Octon challenged with a faint smile on his lips before his skin was burned away by electricity and replaced with a thick, metal like skin of his own.
The moment that they were in amongst the trees, Robin deactivated his power blade and Craig turned around and lowered his gun before he started guiding Robin through the trees in the direction of their destination.
- Now......Now that we are in the clear of that battle, let's get going. Craig said as he holstered his gun in a holster that was clipped onto his waist as he walked up ahead of Robin and took charge of where they were going.
- Is your commander close? Robin asked as he clicked his power blade onto his hip as he pushed away from branches from being to close to his head.
- He is currently en route to our meeting point as we speak. Craig said calmly, a hand on the rims of his glasses.
- Now....Robin...When I was deployed on this reconnaissance and rescue mission, I contacted your commander, Samantha Starchill, and she told me that you were on your own personal mission together with Zack Moonchild. But he wasn't present there when I rescued you. So now it is my turn to ask, where is Zack Moonchild? Craig asked in a court, calm and commanding tone as he turned towards Robin, only for Robin to come to a halt where he walked when Craig asked the question.
Craig knew the answer the moment that he saw Robin's expression grow somber.
- Zack is dead. Allianser killed him. Right in front of me.....Zack died sacrificing himself for me. Robin said in a low, wavering voice as his eyes shone with unshed tears.
Theme: Melody of sorrow | Kamen Rider Ex Aid OST
Robin let out a shuddering breath as his whole body shivered and convulsed.
- Zack is dead.......Dead........He died because of me........Because I was weak.......Because I was a fool.......Because I wasn't fast enough to save him from himself.......Because I was too weak.......I was selfish.......I.....I tried to stop him.....I tried reaching out to him......But I couldn't reach him........I.......I watched him........I watched him die.......He disintegrated right before my eyes. Robin said in a low, breaking voice as his whole body trembled while tears fell from his eyes.
Craig regretted his bluntness and swallowed hard as Robin staggered towards the nearest tree for balance.
- Robin.....Robin! Robin! Craig yelled in a concerned panic as Robin all but collapsed against the nearest tree, his tears falling freely as he supported himself with a single hand against the nearest branch.
- He's dead......He's dead because of me.......I......I killed him.....He died for me........He sacrificed himself because he thought that my own survival was more important than his own. Robin said through shuddering breaths, his eyes miles away as he stared ahead. Not at the tree ahead of them, but rather, his most recent memories. That of his most recent heart ache.
- Robin! Listen to me! Listen yourself! Do you even hear what you are saying?! Please! Robin! Snap out of it! Please! Snap out of it! Crying won't change anything! It won't bring him back! You know that by now! Craig yelled in a desperate and concerned voice as he ran up to Robin as Robin only collapsed further and further towards the ground where he leaned against the tree, shuddering with cries and tears.
- I know Craig....I know.....But please.....Please......Just let me cry......Let me cry for him. Robin said in a miserable and broken voice as he let go of the branch and covered his face as he cried while he slowly sagged onto the ground, his tears still flowing.
- Would he have wanted for you to cry for him? Do you think watching you cry would make him happy after he just sacrificed himself for you? Craig said in a low, somber voice as he knelt down in front of Robin.
- I......I can't help it. Okay? You would cry too if someone just ripped your heart out of you, wouldn't you? Robin said in a defiant voice that still ached with heart ache.
- I would. Which is why I am not blaming you for this. I just wish it would have come at a more convenient time than this. Craig said in a calm, but understanding voice.
But Robin still gave him a good wallop to the chin for his words that sent his world spinning and himself flying into the dirt of the ground beneath their feet.
- Grief and sorrow are not things that you can control! You can't just give into your despair and sorrow whenever it would be the most convenient for you to do so! If that was the case, then we would all be crying ourselves to sleep every night because that is the moment where no one else is there to support you or care about you! Robin yelled in a furious voice as he flew back on his feet if only to glare at Craig where he laid on the ground, groaning.
- OOooooouuuuuuch.......Craig groaned as he re-orientated himself where he laid on the ground, a hand going up to his bruised chin.
- At least I now know that your grief didn't douse your fire. Ooooooouuch! Craig said in a calm and apologetic voice as he pushed himself off the ground, one hand still rubbing his chin.
- My point still stands no matter what you say or what I do. You cannot hide away from your grief. You cannot push it back. It will catch up to you one day. Someday you will just stop and be stricken with grief beyond your belief. You will cry. You will mourn those that have fallen. You will experience your sorrows and despair. You will set them free. It is only a natural thing to do in the wake of the death of someone you care about. It is okay to cry. One should cry whenever they have to or want to. No matter the reason, it is always okay to let a few tears slip if that is the best way for you to feel emotional release at the moment. Robin said as he dried the few tears that remained as he slowly regained his composure.
- Yeah. I know. I too have come across a few inconvenient bouts of grief and despair before. It is better to cry now then wallow in the self-pity and self-loathing mixed with the sorrow and grief that follows no matter what. But it is better to experience a relief of any kind of grief before hand instead of experiencing it all at once. Craig said in a solemn and knowing voice as he sat up on his rear and feet before putting down his other hand and pushing himself off the forest floor.
- Haven't we all experienced a bit of grief in our lives before? Robin said in a low, composed voice as he managed to give Craig a small, apologetic and fragile smile.
- Yeah. But the most important part of grief is what we do after it. Do we wallow and sink into the hole of loneliness and despair born from the absence of what once gave us joy, but whose's disappearance caused our grief? or do we try to take a step out of the dark pit of despair and move on? Keep on living the lives that those that lost theirs could not? Living for their sake and our own? Moving on and make something of our lives instead of living in the past and the endless what-if's of our lives? Craig asked as he rubbed his neck and his chin while giving Robin a raised eyebrow as they started walking again.
- All of it. Every single option, all at once. Because that is what we have to do. The world doesn't stop spinning for anyone. The world doesn't end just because of a single broken heart. And it is a selfish thing to think that it should. One has to move on to be able to keep on living. One has to live. Be it for themselves, others or for those that they have lost. As long as one lives with the memories of the ones that they have lost in tact, then the person that they have lost is not truly dead. They live on inside you, in your memories. As long as you remember them, they are still alive. Robin said in a sincere and found voice as he took a long, self composing breath and put his hands in his pockets as he and Craig started walking once more towards the exit between the trees.
- Yeah. Now come on. Let's get out of here. Craig said with a soft and understanding smile on his face as he walked beside Robin.
- Yeah. It is time to go. Robin said with a somber, but understanding nod as he and Craig continued to walk towards the light shining into the forest from between the trees.
And as they left the forest behind, Zack stood where Robin had previously grieved, waving goodbye, a smile on his face as he waved them both goodbye.
- Goodbye Robin. And good luck.Zack said with a smile on his face before he faded away and disappeared into the air, vanishing completely.
As if he had never been there.
Ending Theme: [TYER] English Blue Exorcist ED2 - "Wired Life" [Ft.AmyAnn]
On the other side of the trees that they had walked through down was another park.
Another fountain greeted them the moment that they eyes had recovered from the seemingly blindingly bright light that pierced both their eyes when they exited the forest.
Beyond the fact that the streets between the Battle Fountains and Battle Monuments were completely abandoned, one would not think that the park had been vacated because of the big battle that had spread itself across the park.
But almost as soon as Robin and Craig went past the Battle Fountain, they found out that they weren't as alone as they first thought when they laid their eyes on the part of the park that they were in.
Because sitting alone in a quickly abandoned cafe, drinking out a steaming hot cup of cocoa and eating an abandoned cinnamon bun was a familiar face.
That of Doun Camraderie.
The moment that he laid his eyes on the two of them, his face morphed into a jovial expression of joy.
- Oh! Hello there! Doun greeted in a jovial and pleasant voice as he waved the two of them over from the other side of the street.
Robin and Craig shared a look before they both decided just to swallow the bullet that they had been served and walk up to the Knight of Darkness that they had walked into.
It wasn't like he was going to give them a chance to run if they were given the chance.
- My associate told me that you were coming this way, so of course, I made myself comfortable while I waited. And look! Here you two are! Doun said with a pleasant smile and an almost kind smile on his face as he waved them even closer to the table he was seated at.
Then he put down his cup of cocoa with a click on its plate as he turned towards the two of them, pulling his laced, elevated black leather boots off of the chairs he was resting them on as he put his hands together with an audible clap.
- You are Robin Lightwalker, right? Doun asked with the rise of a black eyebrow.
- Yes. I am. Robin said as he and Craig tensed, both of them preparing for another battle as they reached for their weapons.
- He he he he.....Doun let out a mirthful chuckle as he stood up and stretched his arms and legs.
- And both of you are part of The Eclipse as well, right? Doun asked softly in a curious voice with such curiosity that it showed across his entire face.
- Yes. Robin and Craig answered in unison as they took a few steps away from Modernon's first Knight of Darkness, reaching for their weapons as they prepared for a difficult battle.
But their response did not make Doun smile in delight at them, but instead, his face turned apologetic and somber.
- Then I am sorry to say this to you both. Doun said with an apologetic voice as he rubbed the nape of his neck.
- But I am here to kill you. Doun stated in a soft and deeply apologetic voice as he turned towards Robin and gave him a somber smile.
- Sorry about that. Doun apologized as his eyes turned orange as they were filled with flames as he leveled a firm glare towards Robin.
- I hope you don't mind. Doun said with a big, wide smile of pristine white teeth as Craig and Robin drew their weapon and prepared for battle.

I haven't actually separated the seasons properly, so you just have to go to the very back of the folder "Stories" and start from there, since that is Season 1.
Be warned, I have gotten better since back then.
