Description
This work was the first of my acrylic/plexiglas creations. It was taken from drawings of a specific patch of grass outside my apartment. I just had the notion to turn the patch and the drawings into a sculpture. It stands about 5 feet tall and is about 10 feet in diameter. It was exhibited in a local Tampa gallery.Related content

very very cool, is the acrylic painted on the inside of the plexiglass? also did you weight down the bottoms of certain ones?

The acrylic is actually from the sign making industry and comes in a variety of colors. And the pieces are not weighted, they utilize a form of hanger block to hild then in place. Each piece had a small acrylic "shelf" on its' bottom. This "shelf" slides under a piece of wood that is attached to the floor, either by a screw or glue.
