Description It took me a month to finish this for some reason. Ok... there's a few dozen reasons but it's not important now. Here it is. The cover or pin-up, or whatever it is that this is being used for. Hopefully Muley will still call me a friend after I took forever to do this. I'll admit... I'm a bit rusty... and there's parts of this that I'm not happy about, but I think I'd ruin it if I tried to do anything more to it. The link to the pencils can be found on 's page at this link [link]

Feel free to sat whatever you feel about the piece. The placement of the blacks were suggested by a friend of Mulvey and I. I haven't asked his permission to name him here, so I'll just say that I hope I got it right.

Thanks, man! And I do have a video of me inking on YouTube. I'm inking a face of a thug from a friends Spidey comic. the music in that video is by Robert Miles and is called "Children". Thanks for watching it.

Thank you for your reply I've been looking for that tune ever since I saw your vid,I must have played that like a zillion times not just for the music, watching you fly with that brush is so inspiring to me,when I'm inking I like to start by listening to that tune, may I ask what size brush do you use,I use a hunts 102 mapping pen and a
winsor newton series7 # 3 brush,I hope to someday be as good as you with a brush, once again thank you so
much for your time

Thanks again for the compliments. I use the same brush as you. Winsor Newton series 7 finest sable number 3. I started out with a 0 size at first and rapidly kept moving up to where I am now as I saw how much more variation I could get. Not to mention the time I could save with a bigger brush.

Love how you handled the rendering of the bg and everything, the blacks are wellplaced too. I don't know what I can really say about it lol

Oh, there's some MAJOR mess up's in it. Like the smoke needs more feathering in areas where I got lazy and gave up on putting some in... oh man... I could go on for hours... lol. Thanks though The blacks were layed out with help from my old roomie (Nelson Blake), so he really deserves the credit for most of the placement.

Oh, Nelson is the lead penciler on G.I. Joe for Devils Due. He's becoming quite the popular fellow.

Not really loving the pencils at least in the area of style used, but your inking is as usual good (at least to my eyes, novice in the field of inking as they may be). What could be wrong with it...er, well wait, would not the blacks be absent from that far pillar behind the fire due to the firelight hitting that area, therefore illuminating it? I guess that wouldn't apply if it were a day scene though, making the fire a secondary source of light, its just that my natural inclination for some reason places this as a night scene.
Ah well, i still find that brick and the detailing on the arial bat-person's wings intriguing, i've never tried using that detailing style, might be interesting to experiment with..
Neat work Chad.

To be honest.... I'm not sure if it's a day or night scene... But I'm glad you liked the inks all the same.
