Description Dear Mr Editor,

It has been a while since our last contact, and you must be wondering how I have reached you on such a private channel. Worry not, for your details are safe, as are the rest of the specifics to do with your wife and children. Though, I must admit that some of the particulars in the fine print are most fascinating. Perhaps I can recommend more of my services to you at a later date. I am certain that with a bit of persuasion, the parties involved in such lawsuit would be more inclined to favour your side of the subject. However, that is not the issue of this correspondence. There is a familiar topic I would like to contribute to, once more.

With the relatively stagnant activity of the tabloids you are so keen to manufacture, I had this inkling that you could potentially be dry of inspirations. Most of the drawls you have chosen to put through in your magazine are entertaining, to say the least, but we both know they lack a certain ‘something’.  I am quite certain you know what it is that I am talking about. That certain ‘something’ that makes the read that much more worthwhile.

I am giving you the opportunity to boost your sales by helping you put that little ‘something’ into your works, and without the usual fee. I know how you feel about what I have spoken to you before, and it is a pity that you have yet to include that interview in your latest monthly. Indeed, such content can be quite daunting to digest, to professional demeanour and authority such as yours. I can understand your feelings of doubt and scepticism on such material, but nevertheless, you know you can comprehend the gravity of its significance. I ask that you show the same comprehension toward the information I am about to parley to you. Even if it may seem like the drivel of insanity, as you have commented before, you know at the deepest vestiges of your passion for curiosity that it is well worth it. You would not have kept the interview notes in your private computer if you had thought otherwise.

As with the last interview, I would ask that nothing be changed or edited out. Think of it this way. Nobody is going to believe what they read in tabloids anyway, yes?

First of all, a brief recapitulation. Bring about a recollection of our previous conversations. You mentioned your views on the weaknesses and fallacies of humanity. The bleak approach to explaining its existence, especially toward the destructive and manipulative aptitudes with such examples on corrupt political systems, despotic regimes and plain, unbridled greed. I will not deny such a view, for such is the many truths of the world, a view of what earthly reality is like. However, do recall what we discussed after. Such a view is relative to limited perspective. I offered you another look, another angle. I told you that everything you knew about what was good and evil upon this earth is not what it seems, that each episode in history as you knew it came with gaps of missing puzzle pieces, be they as trivial as the birth of an unknown king or as significant as the deaths of millions in two World Wars. I told you of impossible firsthand accounts, from the fall of Greek myths, to the ascension of Egyptian pharaohs. The truth behind the Crusades, to the farce behind the discovery of the Americas. The birth of a seemingly fictional Arthur Pendragon, to the death of Adolf Hitler.

Everything you knew and believed was a lie. Everything you were brought to believe was but a shield to the actual, tangible Truths that lie deep within, and such Truths revolve around a single fundamental concept.

‘The Balance’.

This concept is bound to a very ancient set of rules, and these rules tie down the fate of many into the revolving wheel of intended existence. Before I can elaborate more, however, you must know of one more story, another Truth that will challenge everything you believe in.

Recall your schooling days, when you were tested for your knowledge of religious mythology. The many texts, diagrams and research you poured through over several different generations of spiritual beliefs. Recall how many of which represented the ‘sinner’, the ‘one known by many names’ and ‘the fallen one’. Recall the detail of how such a being was portrayed, falling from grace for his defiance and his sin of Pride, his role as the personification of everything that was malign.

Now, imagine this. What if I were to tell you that he did not defy the will of God? What if I were to tell you that he was ‘commanded’, that he was ‘chosen’, that he chose to fall because it was the only means necessary for the survival of all of God’s creations?

Indeed, I do mean in all its due seriousness. The one commonly known as ‘Lucifer’, now known as ‘Satan’, was ordered to become the direct antithesis of everything that is good, and as any Celestial would do, he did not challenge what was needed of him. Without questioning, he cast himself out of Paradise, with consensus from many levels of council, Seraphim and Cherubim included, falling into the limbo that was to be his domain, the Oblivion that many know as ‘Hell’. He underwent the change that would signify his new station, clasped in heavy chains and torrent by fire, ice and brimstone in its coldest, deepest and darkest depths. From this change came the ascending foray of new establishment. A sin for every virtue, seven levels in all, to form a new, elaborate and complex system opposed to the first. From this system, the beings known as the Infernals were born.

Such is the birth of evil as you may know it from texts and manuscripts throughout time, but I know of what kind of questions you ask if such a Truth is indeed true. Why would a single Celestial being be chosen to be the epitome of everything that was wicked and malevolent in this world? Why did Paradise purposely gave rise to Infernals if such evils they portrayed were the antithesis of everything they hold sacred?

The answer is very simple: the birth of humanity.

It began with a divine plan, to create the second most powerful creatures next to God. Second most powerful, as they will be the only creations on Earth to have a power that only God could have before their time. This ability is to be the power of judgement. No other was to have such power, and such a disposition was not decided without cause. Paradise at the period was in a state of crisis, as the Celestials were experiencing, for the first time since their creation, a dire weakness. Stagnation, confusion and immobility. Celestials were not able to reach for the enlightenment they so covet under the grace of God, undeveloped in their understanding of ‘life’ and ‘existence’, and as such, lacked in strength and resolve, shrouded in fears, doubts and insecurities. Such were the complexities of circumstance, different in their approach to common good that every echelon of council below God was at the brink of civil war. The divine plan to create humanity came to form as part of a system for the Celestials to learn about what it meant to exist, to allow them the respite they needed to settle their differences of opinion by instilling their virtues into a lesser cosmic being. From its completion through the rite of creation, as God had done with Earth, came the first humans, Adam and Eve.

Time then was spent on learning many new philosophies while observing, and nurturing, God’s new children created in His image. The tales and stories you have read about were account to various Celestial observers, who watched everything they did, guided them down virtuous paths and inspired them with goodness. The divine plan, for a while, became the proper solution to heal the ails that plagued Paradise, but God and his councils knew that it was not entirely enough to resolve their issues. There was but one thing Adam and Eve lacked: perspective. How can they truly learn of life and existence if the only thing the Celestials did was teach them how to be good? It was only after several periods of turmoil and despair in Paradise when the one known as Lucifer came to the fore. For the greater good of everything that He had made from the cosmos and the Earth, God made the decision to allow his sacrifice to create Oblivion, the mirror image of Paradise, the antithesis of everything that the Celestials stood for. After the story of the Serpent and the Golden Apple, true humanity as you know it began. From the friction caused between the two opposing moralities, both casting their influences into humanity, humanity was finally able to use their gift of judgement. They became able to finally weigh, ponder and decide the consequences of their actions, in accordance to virtues and sins bound to their given independence. Both sides then understood the value of the cosmic ‘soul’, the product of judgements made by the individual human being. They understood the value of a powerful soul, to have lived a mortal life of strong virtues or sins, how much it could provide to their enlightenment, and thus, their survival. It was from then did the concept of Heaven and Hell persisted, reliant on human beliefs and the constant flux of strong souls to grace their gates with a wealth of knowledge and understanding. In simpler words, it was then did Paradise and Oblivion became dependant on human souls.

From the lessons and revelations learnt from this era, God formed the eternal concept of all creation known as ‘The Balance’. This concept decrees that any and all of God’s creations are subordinate to Him, with Satan included, that both Celestials and Infernals are eternally bound to competition for the souls of humans, that good and evil must exist together in a perpetual mist of grey, for the circle of life and enlightenment to continue until the very end of time. Breaking the contract, to carry one morality greater than the other in ultimatum, be it good or evil, comes Armageddon, the Calamity, Ragnarok, the Apocalypse, the End of All Things. If any one side became greater than the other, the slate will be wiped clean.

And so, what does ‘The Balance’ have to do with everything I have mentioned before? Everything, in every minor detail and missing puzzle piece. Everything orchestrated, defined and shaped by the subtle machinations and effects from a combination of many Celestials and Infernals, with such relations to politics and economics of the time. Every town, city and state, a watchful Principality in every courthouse. Every neighbourhood, house and estate, a wily Temptation in every opportunity. Everywhere, everyone and everything you know, encompassing the influence of a Celestial or an Infernal within its finer details. Everything from the smallest acts of Charity to the greatest of acts of Pride, forming the value and nature of the soul that inclined its existence; tipping the internal scales of morality constantly from one spectrum to another, in a never-ending tug of war to determine which cosmic existence may lay legitimate its claim when mortal life expires.

Indeed, they are everywhere, hidden within the societies and cultures of humans since their birth, wearing various mantles of posture to live alongside them; doctors, lawyers, priests, carpenters, contractors, judges, advisors, tempters, muses, friends, enemies, partners, parents, children, wives, mistresses and secrets. Their traditional, sacred and autonomous mission is to maintaining ‘The Balance’ in whatever shape or form they see fit, to best serve His higher purpose, and generally, few find themselves more wanting. To many in their number, it is normally a very, very rewarding task, although within this state of affair in some frequency, there are some blasphemous few who profit from it.

Perhaps I could elaborate more upon the duties, methods and policies to do with the Celestials and Infernals amongst humans, the systems such powers use to fashion miracles, inspirations and disasters, but I can understand the possibility that what I have mentioned so far can already be quite challenging for you to digest, let alone release for thousands or so to read. To quote a dear friend of yours, there is no reason to rush, for I know that even you understand the quality of patience. If such is your interest to know more of the things I can tell you, to settle certain curiosities or to debate certain rationalities, I am always more than happy to answer your calls. Perhaps at the usual place. At the White Room, where your fantasies and realities come together, when time strikes for the hour of your leave from your conscious thoughts into the depths of your unconscious dreams.

In touch, and always waiting,

P.S. Your late father sends his regards.
