Description Im a big fan of the Monster Hunter Series, even if I was unable to finish the first one due to time constraints. Just hunting those monsters and wyverns in general in neverending game play is enough for me. In fact, I was so into it that I started to dream up a few things here and there. One of them is the Argos Reaver, an 8 foot giant blade used to take down wyverns in close quarters. Right now, it has no real fantasy owner just yet but I'll be planning to write a Monster Hunter fanfic soon. This baby might appear in it.

The Argos is carved out of a large wyvern bone (from the looks of it, maybe one of the forearm bones), a particularly strong material in fantasy terms, maybe even as strong as or stronger than regular forged steel. It has a sharp single edged blade and is, of course, too heavy to wield with one hand. I thought of making the width of the weapon about 2 or 3 inches thick to emphasize this amount of weight, but I'm not so sure if thats enough. I added the sword breaker groove feature near the hilt for practical purposes and it functions as a kind of hook to possibly push or pull a mark off balance should the hunter have the strength to do so.

Now, even though this weapon is without an owner just yet, I have added the little marks and teeth on the blade design to indicate that it is. Its future owner will have killed 26 large wyverns with this weapon alone in a fantasy traditional term. Hunters in the world that I will be creating fashion thier weapons with throphies of thier kills, which in the case of this weapon is the teeth and small bone of its previous marks. A sort of like a mark of status sort of thing. The one large and sharp horn like object by the hilt indicates the throphy of the hunter's most dangerous kill while using Argos, and its usually a sign of a near death experiance with that particular mark. This is usually known as a powerful indicator of the hunter's experiance, telling other hunters that the owner of this weapon has been through a lot.
