Description
This custom is based on the 1976 MPC model kit. I had this kit and built it when I was a kid. The real car was a Pontiac Grand Prix and was a George Barris design. I was going to buy the exact Grand Prix in resin but then decided to use a different car. The next car I thought of using was the HW Stutz Blackhawk as it has a similar grill and headlights as the Grand Prix, but the roof is too short so looking through my junkyard cars I thought the JL Custom Continental was a good choice. The roof was cut to give it a 'DeVille' style roof, original windshiled, new rear window, side pipes from the HW '57 Chevy, headlights are craft jewels, wheels are HW RR's with wide whites, grill and bumpers painted with Silver leaf, body and interior were painted Real Red with Triple Thick gloss glaze and hydraulics were added. Up your nose with a rubber hose!*More pics of this car will be posted so check my page!
