As we were driving toward Tulsa my wife called the motel several times to inquire about a room, but no one ever answered the phone. That was probably lucky for us. The desk clerk sits behind a plate of bullet proof glass. Pizza joints and other restaurants won't make deliveries here. The few tired looking people we saw coming or going looked like tenants not guests. And then there are the homeless people sleeping under the bridge that is just 100 feet away.

In the new age of bedbugs, getting the "Best rates in town" can have other costs.
