We can all agree that Zira is not the best mother....like far from it.

So poor Nuka is usually the victim of her outbursts and it only got worse when they were exiled. As much as he tries to get her approval he hates his mother but like any abused kid he just wants to be loved. Ultimately he has no out and friends are hard to come by so he ends up self-harming and even attempts to end his life though luckily (or unluckily to him) someone had enough knowledge to stop the bleeding and it wasn't deep enough for him to bleed out fast.

His last moment in life is cursing that he needed to die for his mother to love him.

All in all, he really hates Scar, his father and mother, and despises Kovu for being the reason his mother won't let go of the past.

His nose is crooked from being smacked hard in the face (the scars on his cheek) and breaking it (nose scar), and his tail never grew out fully after breaking it as well when Zira tossed him by the leg.
