Description So, I've had a few more requests for a copy of my Jacob Frye Hood Pattern but I'm having real trouble uploading the PDF file that my talented step-daughter created...

The preview picture is a place-holder, hopefully by clicking into it you should be able to download a full-sized PDF file.  Open the file in Acrobat and choose to print as a "poster" so it tiles properly.  The original pattern measures 773mm by 305mm from end to end (the pattern itself, not the page) and is scaled for me at 5`7" tall and a 23.5" circumference head.

You should be able to scale the pattern as needed in Acrobat but you'll probably need to play around with it a little to get the right size - that's up to you though as I can't advise on specific sizing.  As it says in the PDF, please give credit if using the PDF elsewhere, it took a long time to work out

Any problems downloading the PDF let me know!

NB: no hem allowance is included in the pattern.  The curved blue sections incorporate a 6mm hem, but the purple lines do not.  My hoods are all finished with bias binding, so remember to add a hem allowance if you don't plan to do this.  See my hood tutorial pics in the gallery for more on how I assembled my hood.  You'll also need your own peak piece, but you should be able to create this from the red placement lines included in the pattern.

I thank you ever so much for releasing this, I am British myself so wanting to cosplay as the first real British assassin in the AC series is a a no brainier. But one thing I had the most trouble with was indeed the odd hood. So the fact you've released this pattern is wonderful. I do thank you my dear fellow and wish you the best in all your projects.
But now before I go I must ask, where is the beak pattern for the hood, now if it's a case of drawing one up yourself I understand, it's just a case getting the full understanding of the pattern, you know. Thank you if you comment back, I shall hopefully hear from you soon my dear chap.

Hi there, glad to hear the pattern has been of help. To be honest I completely forgot to upload the peak piece...

The peak is a diamond shape with slightly curved edges, measuring around 3.75" wide by 4.5" long, inserted between the two hood layers during construction. My step by step guide should help you get the placement right.

Thanks for you kind comments, good luck with the project and keep an eye out for the upcoming YouTube hood tutorial for more info!

Thank you, and by the looks of the pattern, I'd just need to edit the placement line in the hood and make two copy's then put them together till they look good and that should fix it all up. But thank you for the measurements my friend, I wish you the best of luck to you and I shall keep my eye out.
And don't be a stranger, send me a message if you feel like having a chat, one AC lover to another, maybe send me the link to your youtube.
Have a brilliant day mate, an stay safe and cool.

Thank you for posting this! I'm working on Evie Frye, and while I can't use your pattern exactly, your overlap methods translate to her hood as well.

What is the approximate dart location?

Hi, in order to make my hoods fit more closely, I usually put a small dart or gather of around 6-8mm in the fabric just below eye level, that way the hood tapers to the shape of your head better.

Have a look at my hood tutorial pictures in the gallery, you should be able to see where I add the dart there.

Hope this helps,

Ross

Hi, if you open the PDF (link under the picture) and set the zoom to 100% it should be about the actual size I made it. Top to bottom the pattern is around 770mm and at the widest point around 305mm. Use the poster setting in Acrobat to print over multiple pages.

Hope this helps!
