Baron Urban von Raudis. A mastermind, the father of hippogriffonian democracy. Founder of the Republican Party. The first president of the Republic of Bestavia.

Urban von Raudis was born in the city of Bebra in the family of a poor nobleman. As a student, he joined the illegal organization "Young Bestavia". By that time, this organization had three factions: the left (consisted of radical Republicans and socialists, supporters of the revolution), the right (consisted of liberals and a number of conservatives, supporters of reforms) and the centrist (Republicans and moderate socialists, supporters of reforms, but not excluding the possibility of revolution). Urban, soon, headed the centrist faction, from which he will create the Republican Party.

He came to power as a result of the September Revolution. A number of radical reforms are connected with his activity as President, which radically changed the life of Bestavia. Among them: the abolition of the privileges of aristocrats, the liquidation of knightly orders, the secularization of society, the introduction of universal suffrage, the introduction of an eight-hour working day. Thanks to reforms and a confident policy, Bestavia emerged from prolonged stagnation and its economy and industry began to recover.
