Description
"For some reason Easy Company was pretty pleased with their new Company Commander"This motorcycle had been on my wishlist, I think ever since I started with 3D. Bought it a few months ago, but still had not idea what to do with it. I just wanted to have it.
While working on an idea for a pin-up style picture it all came full circle, together with uniform props (also by adh3d) and a great beach foxhole set. Lot's of different filters and overlays.
The finished product reminded me of an artist who always did these kind of pictures. Forgotten his name, I googled and yes .... Riguel, who actually is on DA! Check out Riguel3d.

Great image hon. I remember an artist from years ago who used to make these sort of themed pictures and I always loved them. I wish I could remember his name.

Well bloody hell it seems so! But isn't it cool to see that a picture being made brings back memories? Means you've made a pretty damned lasting impression. At least at some of us that have been around for a while. And maybe a new breed of followers. Great to see a reaction from you. I always loved your pictures.

Sure! After being surprised and amused by your conversation, I do not say that I did not feel honored ...
Thanks and keep on the (very) good work.

So much to love about this, I would just be repeating what has already been said! BUT ..... I have to share some of the funny captions that came to mind....
"Hotlips Houlihan can kiss my ....."
"Saving Private Ryan .... the deleted scenes...."
"Oh NOW you stand at attention?"
Seriously though, absolutely fantastic render. And being a layering and blending fanatic myself I can really appreciate the process.

Thanks Milo for the great comment! I'm really glad you like this and appreciate the process. The layering was a matter of trying several things. I just didn't look right with just a simple Sepia filter.
I really love your captions

Nice. Just the right amount of sepia(?) to give it a nice vintage feel, without overpowering the scene.

Thanks Snapshotz. It actually took several adjustment layers. Like a sunlight filter, ancient camera filter and yes colortone filters. After making this soup of layers I blended it with the original colorfull render to get this slight color effect.

Beautiful render packed with detail! Maybe some day I will have the patience to pull off a scene like this!

Thanks CC. As I allready mentioned to Laspe it was relatively easy. The foxhole is basically a preset scene.

Now that's one helluva postcard (it's what it looks like) the kind that all those servicemen had in their pocket to give them that extra shove to try and make it home. Absolutely love the feel to this and you really nailed it! So happy you finally found a use for the bike as you did it a great justice. I'll have to check out Riguel. Anyway, straight to favs!

Thanks Mel for the great comment and fav. It's a kind of picture that just wouldn't be right if it was crisp, clean and colorful. It needed that vintage, faded look. And yes .. check out Riguel. He's done some great stuff.

You always seem to choose the right avenue when putting the finishing touches on your art, just as you did on this one. Really awesome.

Amazingly impressive Rov... Classic and very sexy vintage style work with a nice touch of humor... And I too would be pleased with Company Commander like her...
The pose, expression, outfit, and setting are spot on... Reminded me of "In the Army Now" too!

Thanks Laspe for the kind comment. I just loved making this. And it was relatively easy. The foxhole is a complete ready to go scene. Just added and reshuffled some stuff. The helmet, belt and canteen are part of the paratrooper outfit for Apollo Maximus. The "jacket" is a retextured shirt and boots a "Lara Croft" freebie.
