WOW he took me long. I sketched Gabe like in January and i just recently had the time to do the lineart and color him. All done with my new tablet! The lines are still a bit shacky here and there but other then that i am really happy with the result So here is finally Ariellas boyfriend! The blind hunter Gabe.

Name: Gabriel Everhart

Nicknames: Gabe, Piano man (by Cheng), The blind Pianist (a title Marina gave him)

Age: 22

Species: Hunter, an elf-like creature that is know to have a paralyzing stare. Most creatures do not like Hunters, because of their love for human kind and their past actions of helping the humans during the war between the mythical folk and humankind.

Hunters have always been known to help humans and red riding hoods.

Current occupation: he gives music lessons to children with a handicap like him.

Future Dreams: he has two big ones; to write at least one song that will be known as a “classic” one day, another is to open his own music school for humans and creatures with handicaps.

Abilities: All hunters have extremely sharp senses, but in Gabriel’s case they are especially advanced as a side-effect from his blindness, for example, his hearing is highly sensitive; people say that Gabriel is able to tell if a person is lying by listening to their heartbeat.
Back when he could still see Gabriel was an excellent archer, but nowadays he has become quite talented with his staff.
Gabriel is also known as a talented young musician. He loves to play piano and writes his own songs.
 
Weaknesses: Gabriel’s biggest weakness is actually not his lack of eyesight, it's his advanced senses; he can't stand very noisy places or places with too many scents for long, as it will make him sick or give him a headache.
Another personal weakness is actually the most powerful ability he has, which has become a liability of sorts due to his blindness; he CAN restore his eyesight for a little bit if he uses the “hunter’s eyes” technique, but if he does use it, the person he is looking at will be paralyzed for hours, and in the worst cases for days which can be really dangerous.

Personality: Out of all Rene’s friends, Gabriel is probably the only one that can stand Marina and Cheng, two eccentric nuisances (as his Cousin Thalia’s friend would put it) at the same time.

His calm and friendly personality makes his house and presence to a quiet sanctuary for his friends if they need it. He is always ready to listen to their problems and help his friends the best he can.
(Like the young Byakko, Saizo Akiba, whom he teaches through music to overcome his issues and also is someone the young boy can lean on and relax when he’s anxious)

With his Girlfriend Ariella, he can also be quite flirty and mischievous. Even in tricky situations he is able to keep his head cool where some others easily freak out.

BG story: Gabriel is the only child of his parents. Another close relative of his is his cousin Thalia Swanson, whose mother is his mum’s sibling.

His childhood was pretty normal, at least when it came to his family; Gabriel was a happy, well-loved child by his parents that enjoyed running through the woods. The town his parents lived in however, didn't like to have his kind around due to the bad history between Gabriel’s kindred and rest of the mythical world. The boy often had to suffer from verbal and physical attacks. Gabriel did not really tell his parents about it though, not until a serious event forced the family to move from the town to their current estate in the town the big bad wolf founded.
On that faithful day that prompted the family to move, Gabriel was beaten up badly and another creature had spat acid into his eyes, resulting in his current blindness

The attackers were later arrested for their actions, but Gabriel fell into a big black hole, emotionally traumatized by the event. He cried for days and it seemed like the previously happy young boy would never smile again.

That was until his father bought him a keyboard and showed him how to play it. The soothing sounds and the beauty of it made his dark world a little brighter. He found joy in music, and over the years Gabriel mastered several other instruments, helping him to get past his traumas.

Out of all of the instruments he’s played, the Piano remains his favorite till today.

In their new hometown – Gabriel’s cousin and her family had recommended them to move there to be close to their family - He met Rene, a girl who was a red-riding-hood, just didn’t know it yet back then.

Another close friend he met there soon after moving, that is now his best buddy, is the son of the Captain of the firefighters, a wolf named Michael.

In the local antique shop owned by the old man griffon Marcus, he met Ariella, his girlfriend.
He was playing a piano in there with Marcus’ permission, since his parents couldn't afford him one. The girl was amazed by his skills and sang along. Upon hearing her voice he was startled at first but grew fond of her quickly, eventually falling in love with her.
Her parents unfortunately do not really approve of her relationship with him, again due to the negative history with the Hunter kindred, which frustrates him a bit as he wishes to spend more time with her.

Currently he is helping a young Byakko in behalf of his newer friend, Rayna Akiyama (another White Tiger), who brought the injured and traumatized boy to their village for safety. The mute boy lives with Gabriel and he helps the traumatized young boy to overcome his traumas, just like he’d overcome his years ago.

Fun facts:

He likes to take walks in the forest, just like when he was a kid
Gabriel is saving money to buy the piano from Marcus.
He and Ariella use Marcus’ shop as their secret date spot, at least as long as the old man allows it; they always make sure to ask him first if they can be there.
