I know these probably aren't very fun to other people, but they are fun to make. Making art for someone else according to their concepts and themes is pretty refreshing; like good exercise. It's fun to be able to take someone's vague idea or story and summarize it in archetypes that aren't just literal illustrations of the writing. It's good to get out of your comfort zone once in a while, which is not something very common on DA!

I totally agree, which is why i've been hitting up the challenges on ConceptArt.org. It reminds me of my old convention commission days, with all the inspiration and none of the stress.
Also, i am intrigued by this Wal-Mart Drinking game.

Go to Walmart with some booze and take sips whenever you spot a certain stereotype (trashy people with tramp stamps, pregnant teenagers, morbidly obese people on rascals, etc)

Unfortunately I reallyreallyreally hate Walmart, even though I get pretty much all my groceries there because I am indeed frugal, but. The sight of blue and yellow together -- it makes me dry-heave! But even saying that, I still totally dig this shit. Like, a lot.

I feel the same way. If I don't change things up every once in a while, my work gets stale. I feel like I'm in one of those stale stretches right now. I have to find something new to do to bump me out of it.

I work as a Wal-mart Greeter. Can't really play drinking games on the job, but Wal-mart bingo is extremely fun... Loving the dirty feel of this.

Ah! Yeah the article doesn't even mention greeters, I just felt like it was something that communicated "WALMART" really effectively. Also, the idea that you could probably get away disguised as a greeter by just donning a vest!
