In the movie, Joker, his real name is Arther Fleck. Iβm getting the feeling DC will change Jokerβs real name from Jack Napier to Arther Fleck in future canon, or something like that.

due to his history of causing so much chaos and death just to satisfy his twisted sense of humor and to prove that "everybody just need one BAD day"....this patient is too dangerous to be in the asylum....let alone live. Unfortunately this is Batman's law we Do....Not...Kill

I blame the legal system for not giving this asshole the death sentence more than I blame Batman or any other hero for upholding their moral principles.

Iβd have to disagree. Morals and principles are what separate the heroes from the villains. Once you start just killing people, we end up with assholes like Red Hood and the Punisher βprotectingβ us. The Jokerβs bad, but itβs not Batman or Supermanβs job to put an end to him. Superheroes are supposed to save lives, not end them.

Exactly, antiheroes, by definition not exactly the good guys. Would putting down the Joker be ultimately beneficial? Yes, but Batman in particular doesnβt have to be the one to do it. Again, itβs really the fault of whoever keeps sending this asshole to Arkham instead of the electric chair.

Actually they kinda can keep doing it forever. Not got any in universe reason, but because the Joker is a popular character.

Depends on the continuity. In the 89 Batman movie his name was Jack Napier. The name has been used in the comics as well, notably in the recent series "White Knight"
In my own continuity, Earth-27, it is just his most used alias.

I imagine THERE ARE days of the week (depending on the weather) where he REVELS in being the Clown Prince of Crime and openly calls himself that... and will kill you for calling him that if someone wore a blue tie to work that day.Β

A youtube video once from the POV of the Arkham staff, said how once incarcerated, Joker has no 'status' as a master criminal, he's just another patient... it's a pathetic lie given how dangerous Joker is and has broken out of Arkham more than anyone.Β

I thought Joker's former life as the faceless, pathetic nobody whose life was destroyed in one day was UNKNOWN to people at large! (And Joker keeps it that way by selling one BS origin after another, and even he admits that he constantly forgets and gets wrong the details of the man he once was).Β
Joker's 'canon' psychological profile seems to nail him as his personality constantly changes from one day to the next, being comedy based criminal 60s style Joker one day, and mass murderer the next day. The worst part seems to be that Joker is AWARE OF THIS! He KNOWS who he is won't exist by that time tomorrow. Is it any wonder he's so callous? It'll be ANOTHER Joker's problem soon enough.Β
"I only kill people when it's funny." Of course, what counts as funny to the Joker likely changes by the minute! (If not by the time it takes to spark a synapse!)Β
"Do you know how many times we've come close to World War Three over a flock ofΒ geeseΒ on a computer screen? Do you know what triggered the last World War? An argument over how many telegraph poles Germany owed its war debt creditors!Β Telegraph poles!Β Ha ha ha ha ha!Β
It's all a joke! Everything everybody ever valued or struggled for... it's all a monstrous, demented gag! So why can't you see the funny side?Β
Why aren't you laughing?"
As far as Joker's concerned, the world is ALREADY a twisted, inane, illogical mess. The only difference between him and Bruce is that Bruce at least had Alfred to keep him sane.Β

Personally, I don't get what the artist here has against time travel. And to be honest, I sincerely and truly don't want to know. It won't change their tastes, and it won't change mine, all it would do is get us both frustrated at the end and lessen our ability to enjoy the world. If that's not what you meant, then okay.

See File for Contradictory Stories for list of stories told.
- He was once a comedian who was booed off stage for a terrible performance and became the Red Hood to get payback on those who heckled him.
- He was a former consigliere for mob boss Carl Grisson who, after finding out he was having an affair with his mistress, gave the patient the Red Hood costume hoping that the police could one day kill him.
- He was a former employee at Ace Chemicles who was tormented by his boss so much that he became the Red Hood only to get revenge on the corporate industries in Gotham. Probably inspired #89608 aka Lonnie Machin.
- He had a wife and child who died while he was out with his friends. He decided that becoming the Red Hood was a way for him to commit suicide.
There are legitimate reports of all the characters, but we have no idea what has happened to them prior to the Red Hood's rise to power. All we do know is that all these stories connect to Red Hood, Ace Chemicles, a vat of experimental chemicals and the vigilante known as Batman.
